This building is small and very simple compared with the great mosques elsewhere. As an example of an everyday rural place of worship it was very moving. Its location on the hill gave superb views over the glorious countryside through which the visitor passes to reach this place and we were lucky enough to see eagles soaring above. It is... More

This magnific building is located in one of the most beautiful villages of Andalucia, Almonaster la Real. You can go walking trough white streets, eating tipical spanish "tapas" in little restaurants and enjoying everywhere. At the top of de village are this marvelous moorish jewel joined to one of the oldest bullring in Spain. You must visit this magical place... More

Must go place, not too far to walk too nestled in Almonster village. An amazing structure built on the crest of a hill which has a fabulous outlook over this lovely region of Spain.

Traversing the cobbled streets, we made our way up to the Mezquita. We had canine company (we named him Rex) who escorted us all the way. What a regal creature. Walking into the Mezquita, I must say was calming. The large basin with its offerings strewn across the base, was a vessel of sustenance for Rex, who lapped at its... More
