    Visited for the meerkats experience.
We visited Millets Wildside as we had received a buyagift voucher for a meerkat experience. We chose Millets due to its location. We were very surprised at the size of the whole Millets Farm Centre and its facilities. The meerkats experience was amazing. The keeper was very informative throughout as we spent time feeding the meerkats. We enjoyed the other birds and animals at the centre too. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

    Fabulous. A Must See.
ME and my little girl, who is 9 years old, absolutely loved our day out at Millets Farm, the place is magical. I only wished we'd actually booked a hotel in the area so we could have spent more time enjoying the place. The birds are so exotic and fascinating, with one of the best selection of owls I've ever had the pleasure to see. We enjoyed a meerkat adventure where the meerkats climbed over us to eat mealworms from our 'tweezers'. We loved picking our own fruit too after spending time with the animals and then looking around the most fantastic farm shop I think I've ever been to. I want to only shop at Millets Farm, forget Sainsbury. The car park is also spacious with lots of room to park, so don't worry about that. They also have a wonderful cafe for some food and a beautiful outdoors area to relax while eating. Did I mention the play park for youngsters? I highly recommend. I will go back for sure.

    Day out
I bought my wife a feed the Meerkats experience for her birthday, we booked up online (which was easy) and made our way out there. My wife and I toughly enjoyed ourselves, the keeper was very knowledgeable, and answered any questions that we had. The time flew by, we could of stayed there for hours, we also watched some flying demonstrations as well. There are plenty of other things to do especially if you have children with you, plenty to keep them entertained and happy, there's a couple of cafe's to keep you fed and watered and all in all a great day out, would recommend.

    Best visit yet
Well... have been a few times before. This was the best visit. It has been developed and made bigger. The bird show was amazing, over 20 mins long. An owl flew right past me. The best bit is the new butterfly house. It's truly amazing. The Butterfly are wow. You must visit this place. Good value for money.

    Wonderful and engaging day out
We went for the raccoon experience and had a great time. Ben was friendly and very knowledgeable about the animals and presented a very engaging flying display. It was clear how passionate the handlers are and how well cared for the animals and birds are. Thank you for a lovely afternoon, excited for your new arrivals!

    Fantastic Experience, Brilliant Staff
I bought my girlfriend an Owl Encounter Experience in August 2022 for her birthday. We finally got the chance to take advantage of the ticket in August 2023. We booked the experience with ease and after some enquiries via email about some things I was confused about, we booked in! We arrived around 45 minutes early so went in and checked in. I was with my disabled girlfriend in her wheelchair and she had no issues getting around at all! I was very taken aback at first that I had to pay an entry fee to take her to experience, but I didn't realise what this included at this point and assumed it was for me to take her to the field and watch, but I couldn't have been more wrong! We had 45 minutes to look around the other aspects of Millets Wildside, watch part of a Flying Session, and I was able to get up close (but not partake) in my partners experience; which is absolutely understandable seeing as I had paid just for her. It was worth every penny. Our Falconer; Harry, was extremely friendly and extremely professional. He answered any questions we had and was understanding of my partners wheelchair situation. She was able to get inside one of the enclosures and quickly take a seat and was able to partake the rest of the experience on the field whilst in her wheelchair. Harry had some concerns that the wheelchair my confuse the owls; but luckily it did not! My partner had a great deal of time with each owl and was able to encounter and experience a variety of different owls. Harry was understanding that my partner was disabled and may not be able to interact with the larger owls; so selected the ones he felt would be the best. The owls all seem happy and content. They were not tethered and free roaming during the experience; and extremely well fed! As for the rest of Millets, parking was easy; and the Farm Shop was superb! I would 100% recommend Millets Wildside and will be back very soon. Thanks to Harry and everyone else working that day!

    Racoons
I absolutely loved the racoon experience. Although I was so gutted we didn't get to give them a scratch, you still get to give them fuss with their toys and treats. the lady taking the experience was absolutely loveky, extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. You can't help but laugh how cheeky the 3 fellas are. If you love racoons... you'll live this.

    Amazing Owl Experience
We had an owl experience today at Millets Farm. It was superb. Alex looked after us and she was brilliant and very knowledgeable - we learnt loads about the owls and some of the other birds at the centre. All the staff come across as adoring the birds and other animals, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. At the same location there is a garden centre, some small artisan shops, a cafe, a play area for kids and a few animals that you can see with no cost that are located outside the falconry centre.

    Amazing raccoon experience
I was gifted a raccoon experience for my birthday and it was brilliant. Due to a change in the law, you are no longer allowed in with the raccoons and you are not allowed to touch them, but this did not affect the experience in any way at all. We joined their keeper Alyssia (?) in a private room, half of which was an enclosure for the raccoons. We were introduced to each of the raccoons and told of their different personalities and given instruction on how we could safely interact with them. Essentially we were given the job of providing them with their enrichment. We had food and a variety of toys and puzzles in which to hide the food for the raccoons. We also had a bell, that once pressed earns them a bit of food and also training sticks that again earns them food when they touch, or indeed grab, the end of it. The raccoons were great fun and fully engaged in their enrichment. Alyssia spoke at length and in great detail about the raccoons during the enrichment, and gave lots of interesting info and facts about them including how the centre ended up rescuing them. This was a brilliant experience being able to interact with these amazing animals and to find out so much about them. Alyssia did a wonderful job and made the experience one to remember. The experience also comes with entry to the rest of the falconry centre so there are also other things to see and do whilst there - the bird display was one of the best we've seen so would highly recommend that too.

Me and my partner did the 2 hour falconry experience. All the birds seem very well looked after and you get plenty of time to hold each bird between the small group. The staff clearly love their job and I learnt so much about the birds.

Me and my partner would definitely do this again, it was amazing!

My partner and I attended a VIP Falconry experience in May 2024 and were blown away by the hour-long tour. We were very warmly greeted and immediately allowed to handle one of the birds while being told in a fascinating and interesting way all about their behaviours, habitat and history. The tour continued with an introduction to all the other birds at the centre culminating with flying demonstrations where we were allowed to have the birds land on our falconry glove protected hands. The birds are clearly all very well looked after and the staff clearly have a love for and great rapport with them. Brilliant and wonderfully educational day that I can thoroughly recommend.

What a great day! if you like wildlife this is a must visit. The Falconry experience lets you get a close as you would dare to birds of prey and other exotic species.
The staff were informative and engaging and seem to have a real love for the birds.
I would definitely go for the half day experience, as you get to walk the grounds with a bird of prey as it follows you around waiting for easy food from you, while also hunting for live prey!

I did an owl experience which was superb. You get 1-1 experience with just however many are in your group.

Flew 2 owls and went into the enclosure of another pair and had the land on the gloves as they were fed.

My only thing would be I only got 50 minutes as the keeper needed to prepare for the flying show. I would say start the experience earlier to give a bit longer. I loved it though, it just went quite and I wanted a bit more time.

Watched the flying show and had a good wander round after. Great place and great experience.

We visited to do the Really Wild Encounter on our way home from Wales. The experience was fantastic. The centre keeper is extremely knowledgeable and has a very fun, enthusiastic way of explaining the animals' behaviours. We fed the wallabies, and meerkats and then got a close up view of the racoons (you're not actually allowed to interact with them due to UK law). For the price paid, this experience is brilliant. Feeding the meerkats and watching them gather their food in enrichment activities was both amusing and interesting. The Raccoons were a personal favourite, they are exactly as cheeky as you might expect and so very intelligent. The Centre itself is small-ish but the birds of prey and owls are wonderful. The otters, skunks, butterflies and fish are also great to see. The staff really care about these animals and it really shows in their enthusiasm and level of knowledge about each species. I would recommend this to people of all ages.

We were bought a Birds of Prey experience jointly for our birthdays. Absolutely fantastic. Just myself and husband in our time slot. We held 3 different owls, flying 2 of them. It is a day we won't forget. All staff are friendly. Birds are well cared for and exercised. It is obvious they are loved by the keepers. Highly recommended. We also saw the butterfly enclosure which was amazing. Two things I would say is please get rid of the plastic plants in the hot house! They do not fit! And put a better fence round the wallabies. I shouted at a child who went under the rope and was petting them being encouraged by their parents! Overall, amazing day thankyou.

This is an excellent venue for kids and loads to do and see. The Birds of Prey in particular were stunning and it’s all clean and well kept. My only comment is that it needs more staff on at half term - there was lots screaming kids in the Butterfly house with some of the idiotic parents encouraging their children to catch the butterfly’s with their hands. That aside it’s a great venue.

One of our daughters bought this 2 hour Falconry Experience through Virgin for our Christmas present.

Wednesday 15th May 24 at 10am. We were lucky to have great weather.

Overall it was a very interesting and enjoyable experience. Thank you.

A couple of issues though. The man who did the presentation was very good, but sadly quite quietly spoken and at times when we were spread out, we probably missed two thirds of what he was saying.

The most annoying problem was that a tractor worked in the field next to us spraying in the poly-tunnels. The tractor completely drowned out the presenters commentary.
On top of this, the poly-tunnels are open at the bottom and we were down wind of this spraying that was 60 – 80 metres away.
We have no idea what mist we might have been inadvertently breathing.
The whole tractor thing was quite thoughtless and unnecessary and spoilt 30 – 40 minutes of our 2 hour presentation.

Had an amazing Birds of Prey experience today. We arrived late due, but both the reception lady and Harry were absolutely fine about it, but still managed to meet 4 beautiful birds. A Carracarra, Laughing Kookaburra, Barn Owl and a Harris Hawk.
Harry the "birdman" was great fun, helpful and knowledgeable, and teaching us how to make the Kookaburra sign and "laugh was hilarious. My daughter [25] nearly wet herself.
A great experience and the wildside team are a great bunch.
Thank you Harry.

Really enjoyed the meerkat experience (birthday treat from my husband). It was great to get up and close with the meerkats and it was run smoothly and efficiently with safety always in mind. We also hung around for the falconry display which was entertaining with funny banter between the handlers. Would recommend for a pleasant day out.
