As part of a private tour we visited this small family run champagne house. It was an interesting experience and it was lovely to meet the next generation in form of the current owners small daughter. This is a living history vintner, down to earth, they cherish their family traditions, beyond the glamour of the big players whose champagnes might have continuity, but lack real character in my view. Oh, I didn't mention I ordered 2 crates of their delicious Oeuil de Perdrix champagne following the tasting!

This family run 7th generation champagne house gives you an authentic taste of how a boutique champagne house runs. We tasted 3 different champagnes and had a tour of the whole production process. They also have the oldest oak grape press in the champagne region. We’d highly recommend!

Champagne Joseph Desruets is a lovely and peaceful independent champagne house. The owners were very friendly and explained the process of making champagne very well with a good sense of humour! We had a testing at the end of our visit and tried 3 different types of champagne. The champagnes were very fine and so much enjoyable! Thanks for the wonderful experience again and we really enjoyed the day :)

An amazing independent champagne house with an interesting background and on-going operations. This house was included as part of a tour, but was our favorite stop. The champagne was excellent also. If you are in the area, make this one of your stops. This champagne can even be purchased in Seoul South Korea.

Stepping away from the very glamourous mass produced champagne houses, we visited Joseph Desruets. Easily organised and expertly hosted, Sabine explained the champagne making process utilising the original press (still in use) right through to sales and distribution. There was a real family passion for the business and the resultant excellent product. It proves it is not always about a big name. This place is excellent.
