This is a tiny place, but we paid for the tour (which inlcudes transportation and a guided walk on the ecological reserve), and it was incredible. The guide clearly knew more about rocks than anyone we've ever met before, but he made it easy to...More

The people here were very friendly. Small museum and a good place to get information before going to the ecological reserve. You get a good sense of the timeline of the geology of the rocks.

This is where you can see restaurant menus, so you may choose one and make a reservation right away, as they book up fast. You can get information about tours and museums and architecture and much more.

The museum itself is quite small. The information is good but just doing the centre would be disappointing. However, going thru the centre with a guide and then going out to the study site with the guide is a better option. It is still expensive...More

I'm a former resident of Fortune and tried for many years to find the GSSP for the Precambrian Era and Cambrian Peroid. A stop into the interpretive centre on the water front in Fortune allowed access to an excellent guide who transports you to Fortune...More

The Fortune Head Interpretation Centre is brand new, opening in late July, 2015. You don't have to be a geologist or hard-core science lover to appreciate and understand the excellent displays that tell the story of the internationally important rocks found nearby. These rock outcrops...More
