Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Barouk cedar reserve should be visited in each season…each season has a different charm, with the yellowish colors, the lights are amazing

Peaceful, green, well-managed and clean…a total antidote to the noise and garbage of everywhere else in Beirut. There are gentle and challenging trails to follow depending upon your fitness and appetite for exercise. As a keen but mobility-limited visitor I enjoyed walking in the shade of these lovely trees whilst experiencing the wonderful views from the mountain. There’s a “lake” to trek to, however it’s really a small, man made reservoir for migrating birds to refresh themselves from and it looks rather out of place amongst the trees. One innovation I appreciated…anyone can buy a tree planted with their name on it in perpetuity. This is a great idea! Only 100, 000 Lebanese pounds. Bargain.

So peaceful, so clean and when you are face to face with these historical cedars that have seen more than one can possibly imagine, the sensation is amazing. The trails arent difficult and the view is beautiful

These age old cedar trees take on weird and wonderful shapes. The trails through the reserve are not difficult. You don't really need to walk the entire trail system as the forest does start to look the same after a brief walk. But don't miss these relatively high altitude, endangered trees. They are wonderful to look at and may not be around for much longer.

Firstly, do take good comfortable shoes because if you want to get up close with Lebanon's iconic national symbol you will have to walk. Don't settle for the first cedar you see because you will see so much more. If you continue on your walk you will see cedars that thought to be c2,000 years old. It is absolutely amazing! There is a little kiosk that will offer you coffee (if you like it) and you can also buy all kinds of honey. It is a bit pricey and hopefully the money goes towards keeping this place as beautiful as it is. Before you start your walk, you will be given a very good short introduction. Everybody is extremely friendly.
