- Nic C2 contributionsWonderful service in the restaurantWe visited today for the first time. Our favourite area was the Village restaurant. We were served by the lovely Loanna and Marley, who are some of the nicest young people we have met in a long time! They made us feel like old friends and so welcome; which I personally rarely feel anywhere due to my autism. We only had drinks and a dessert on this occasion which were fabulous, and can't wait to return to sample the main menu and be welcomed with such warmth again!!Thank you for the lovely review, we are glad you enjoyed visiting the Blakemere Village restaurant and we hope to welcome you back again soon :)Written 5 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 December 2023

The owner went above and beyond in sorting it and got me a stealth 2 as a replacement! - Leon LCheshire, United Kingdom76 contributionsOutstanding service. We hired the VIP area for both of our Birthdays, which has become an annual tradition. We were lucky enough to have Gail assigned to our table for the evening and we honestly can't thank her enough, she was truly amazing. All our friends and family were greeted on arrival and we never wanted for a drink all evening. Outstanding service! Food was pretty good too, and the cocktails were perfect. Thanks for the 5* review, we are glad you enjoyed the outstanding service and we look forward to seeing you again soon :)Written 5 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 11 December 2023
- Dave JChester, United Kingdom33 contributionsGood place to visitThe place has made massive changes and improvements since I visited -9 years ago. Plenty to do as a family including small funfair which our daughter loved. Old sweetshop, courtyard with various shops to view. Nice antique building, pet shop, Pete Watermans indoor model railway which you can drive trains on kids were loving this. Falconry, seg-ways, bikes to hire. There is a craft shop where kids can create things and paint them. There is a soft play area and adventure playground too. The Village restaurant & coffee bar was excellent. The staff serving food and drinks were of a younger age, I noticed how polite, knowledgeable and respectful they were not only to us but to other diners too. The menu was good and had a decent range of options to choose from. I had a Steak Ciabatta with Red marmalade sauce it was delicious. Pricing was reasonable but when the food was served it was very good value for money. I will definitely return for a carvery. The restaurant was clean and tidy and service was first class. All costs added up on day was probably around £100 but was worth it. In summer this would be an ideal place to keep kids entertained in school holidays. Bar area was nice and people were enjoying drinks when we left. Definitely a place to try out and visitThanks for the lovely review, we are glad you had a fun day out at Blakemere Village and found plenty to do. - RavingeddieUnited Kingdom634 contributionsA bit naffWell it’s not as good as expected. A few stranger retailers, and few brick n brack shops, nice furniture shop, pet shop, and TERRIBLE beer place, a bird place and a little kids crazy golf and adventure thing. A nice little court yard with a few bits shops within. Did have a garden centre (closed down) but like a lot of the businesses there, now it a kids play ground, £3/4 a go for about 60 seconds. court yard again struggling, nice food shop and sweet shop in there, had a bit of an Easter theme stamp collecting, and also had a bunny and a very annoying fella on a tannoy calling out stuff. Great shame as a few years ago was actually a decent place, but gone down hill now. Campsite is there now, which looks quite nice. but there is woods behind it, is really great dog walk, great little place as long as you can avoid the out of control ‘segways’ May be better if you have children - but as a place to wander and kill a couple of hours, don’t bother. Thanks for the feedback, I will pass on your comments to all concerned...Written 5 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 7 April 2024

Superb service, very good ambience. I had the vegan breakfast and it was just what I wanted. Had a walk around afterwards and landed in the big antiques place. There is a lot to see and do here, it depends what you are after. - DHugh161 contributionsGreat place to visit! This place is a real hidden gem and definitely worth a visit. It has quite a lot to offer and can be enjoyed by families in a safe and welcoming environment. Fairground, shops, activities to suit young and older people We visited the miniature train which took you through woodland, it was brilliant and run by lovely people, who were obviously enthusiasts and genuinely wanted you to enjoy the experience (worth checking running times so not to be disappointed) So much in one area, we had an enjoyable morning out in this unique complex.Thank you for the review. My wife and spent 3 nights in our Motorhome and had a great time. There is something to do on this site for all ages and interests and we would have had to stay for a month to appreciate it all.
The walks are great. the scenery is the same. If you stay in the village there is a multitude of things to do for the kids and those who like to shop or relax in a cafe or bar.
We will definatley go again. We were on pitch 11 and is wwas just right.

This is our second time back to Blakemere village for their 'Magical Woodland' events.
The first time was just before the first lockdown, which quickly became one of our favourite family trips out at that time.
And this year, we wanted somewhere outdoors as the safest way to meet with family for Xmas - but it had to be entertaining for the kids, as well as manageable for varying ages of adults in our group.
Once again, Blakemere put on a fantastic event that ticked all of the boxes!
Great for everyone from age 3 to 63, we all enjoyed casually meandering around the woodland at night, to see the unique light displays.
Toasting marshmallows and meeting the owls at the end was the cherry on the night.
I think the cost for this event was just right - I really hope things stay this way as when event companies have a good thing going, they tend to hike the price and then it becomes unaffordable to most, or disappointing to those who pay and feel like they've been overcharged.
As it is, it was a perfect night, well managed, well presented, with enough 'magic' to excite the kids, whilst giving a vibe of overall 'wonderment' for everyone else.
Would recommend!

Been to Blakemere village for the halloween trail in October 21 & the easter trail in April 22, which was great, we had a lovely morning finding all the clues and then the children got a little halloween/easter pack at the end.
We have also been to cheshire craft workshop & done pottery painting on lots of occasions which is always fun. My daughter had her 9th birthday in july and had 17 of her friends/family painting pottery… the staff were great, they help us out lots with the party, i would really recommend having a pottery party with them.
They have some great little shops too & the funfair is always a hit with the kids.

Booked 7pm Boxing Day, rainy, wet, cold and windy. Very muddy walk, not suitable for buggies has it’s so deep in places you can’t push the wheels through the mud. Great concept but too muddy to enjoy the lights.

Visited Blakemere many times but have to echo a previous post on here as it seems the “Golf Pro” is still robbing people. Went in to pick up a 2 year olds club £35 sticker on one of them then I said I was looking for a cheap driver. Picked up a Nike one that had £159 sticker on it.
By my maths I worked that out at £194 just seen my card statement and was charged £210. Was in a rush so didn’t really look only now I have noticed. The bloke could chat s*** for England so you just want to escape.
Gave me all the sales pitch about it being rare, it’s tigers driver, had a £469 sticker on it crossed out. I thought the shop and guy was legit so said ok £160’s ok.
It’s not the tiger version- lie
It was never £469 - lie
I like the club- just double the price I can get it if I wasn’t in a bit of a rush
I won’t be going back.
Just leaves a bad taste in ones mouth knowing shops can do this. My fault, I trusted a random guy pretending to be a golf pro. He just works in a knockoff shop

We are really sorry that you were not satisfied with the service you received from Greg Nicholson Golf, located on our site.
As landlords we have no control over how individual businesses operate, unless it is unlawful of course, but we can assure you that we will bring this to their attention and investigate your complaint as soon as possible.
We sincerely hope that this does not deter you from supporting the many other independent businesses based on Blakemere Village and we hope to welcome you back soon.

We’re do I start?? What a horrible man! Pushy salesman, rude, didn’t have the product I wanted and pretty much refused to give a refund as I should get the more expensive set he was telling me to buy. He would hold the money until I had come to my senses and realised he was right and I should’ve listened to his advice in the first place. 2 weeks of emails and finally got the refund today. Disgusting customer service. AVOID this shop at all costs!! Rude, arrogant and unpleasant, says he a professional! I have no idea how he is in business. Spend your hard earned cash elsewhere people!

This site should be great but isn’t. It relies heavily on attracting customers by promoting the village area of the complex. By far this is the muckiest, dustiest site we have ever been to (and this was the most expensive of our holiday!). We were there in lovely weather - I dread to think what this site is like when wet! The “pitches” have no gravel, just muck with very few stones on top. The roads are the same, dusty potholed dirt tracks. Everything gets filthy and forget taking a dog! - ours need a tummy, leg and paw bath after EVERY walk otherwise we couldn’t have let him back into the campervan! The outside washing up area was unhygienic - permanently covered in a layer of dust from the roads. Almost half of the ladies toilets were permanently locked and on one morning the others were so disgusting that they were unusable. I’ve since read several other reviews where customers have also complained about the state of the pitches/roads and the response is always that it’s on the list to be done! At least two years later they’re no better so, Blakemere should either bring the site up to standard or stop charging top site prices and be truthful about what customers can expect! Awful site.

Thanks for the review, we are happy to report that our main site and pitches have now had the re surfacing works complete so there is a vast improvement. We are hearing great reports from our customer. We now also have an enclosed washing up area for use by our guests.

Just done the pumpkin trail with three kids (£5 each!) and although lots of effort had certainly been put into it by blakemere but we didn’t enjoy it
Main issue is despite there being a large parking area pretty much everywhere you go, there are cars. So you can’t enjoy looking for the trail letters as pavements are either non existent or very narrow and cars just driving everywhere. So you constantly worried about your kids. Not a relaxing trail
Also many of the letters are in the shops which not helpful with pram and young kids as shops are small and you don’t want to get in the way of shoppers.
Blakemere needs to be pedestrianised as there’s no need for the road round it
Finally the fairground is a total rip off!! £2 or £3 for each ride when you have more than one child is just not do able. Hence why it was empty! We did not even allow the kids in when we saw the prices. If had been a sensible amount like £1 a ride we would have let them go on a few. Too greedy.
Don’t bother with playbarn either. Only online booking even though there was space but were told we couldn’t pay to go in then and there “in case someone was booking online at that exact moment!” (So we’re they going to teleport in that second also? Very strange set up. We’re checking it out for a double party but think will go elsewhere. Looked very small and cramped.
All in all poor day and would not recommend xx

Trying out our new motorhome and this site exceeded all expectations. Friendly, accomodating and courteous management, spotless and modern amenity block, very well maintained grounds and first class fully serviced pitches, spaced an appropriate distance apart. Set in semi woodland a one minute walk from Blakemere Village shops and cafes/bar. One particular feature of the site is a newly constructed enclosed dog exercise area (in addition to a huge dog walking field). Ideal for our small dog, the only way this could be improved is to make a hard path around this area as it was very muddy (not a fault of the site - we have had a lot of rain!). Children’s play area well placed behind the amenity block. Well stocked and reasonable store on-site, and strict rules about noise etc meaning its a great spot for those with young families or wanting some peace and quiet. Will definitely return.

Unfortunately, due to the current restriction The Den is closed and we are not able to run our film nights. As soon as it is safe to do so we will resume our events and reopen The Den, but for now the safety of our customers and staff is the most important factor. We hope to see you on the park soon.

Can anyone who has stayed in a tent tat this site advise which field is best to be in if you have children. Which is closest to the play area?
Written 19 July 2018
There are a couple of grass pitches just behind the children’s play area, next to the toilets which are perfect if you have toddlers. I’m not sure of the numbers but if you call, the owners are lovely and will oblige if possible. We stayed in the field (not the rally one) as our children are older and we prefer things quieter. The pitches there are huge with so much space to run around. Ask for pitches 54 or 60 (the corners) in this area. It’s about a 2/3 min walk to the toilets and play area.
