I'm admittedly a wine novice and didn't know what to expect from this tour, but it was truly a great experience. Jonathan was a friendly, engaging guide who explained the details of his wine-making philosophy, fermenting/aging process, and the complexities of wine-making in the Roussillon region. He never made me feel dumb for my relative wine ignorance, and his warm... More

Having never visited a vineyard before I was slightly apprehensive about what I was going to expect, not knowing what to smell or taste however Jonathon was extremely welcoming and friendly making the experience thoroughly enjoyable! Talking at good lengths about wine making and the local area along with a fantastic one on one tasting with a great depth of... More

I have visited many wineries in southern France and tasted their wines, but this must be the best experience yet. I spent two weeks in the gite attached to Domaine Treloar and can thoroughly recommend the gite, the area and the wine tour. Jonathan has a passion for producing quality wines and is skilful at communicating his passion and explaining... More

We found this to be one of few wine makers to really allow for wine tasting. We had a one to one with the main winemaker who was very welcoming and knowledgable. The wine is boutique and delicious. The only regret is that we couldn't stay and enjoy a bottle on the vineyard.

We stayed in the Domaine's gite for two nights and also went on the wine tour. Both were excellent. The gite has all you need for a family stay. Three bedrooms, bathroom and two separate WC's, as well as a stock if books and the essential Wifi. Great base for exploring the area. Jon and Rachel recommended destinations for us.... More

If you have a couple of hours to spend in this area or happen to be passing close by (just past Perpignan & close to the main A9 Autoroute from France to the Spanish border) & also a lover of good wines then I would thoroughly recommend stopping off at this small Domaine. We went for an early evening wine... More

Hosted by Jonathan and Rachel who own and operate the business, we had a tour of the vineyard followed by an explanation of the winemakers art. Jonathan is a real enthusiast for his craft. Rachel served us a lovely lunch, of mostly very local produce, and accompanied by a tasting of half a dozen wines made on the premises. A... More

A perfect birthday treat arranged by our son and partner to be taken during our two month stay in Rousillon - made all the more so because Tom and Chloe were with us at the time. Jonathan's career change, enthusiasm for his subject, relaxed approach, tips for avoiding pretention and enhancing enjoyment and understanding of wine all made for fascinating... More

Trouillas is a charming sleepy hamlet of 1500 souls located just outside Perpignan. Based here since 2006 Jonathan Hesford and Rachel Treloar are producing a variety of wines of outstanding quality from vines some of which are sixty years old! Their Domaine Treloar has already come to the attention of the prestigious French wine bible, the Guide Hachette and to... More

We wanted to visit a Winery without the pomp, ceremony and embarrassment (we buy wine at supermarkets) that is inevitable with a certain type of Wine tour. Luckily for us Treloar was near to where we were staying and so we took a day out to visit. Luckily for us there was a mix up with the dates, and to... More
