Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small unique geographical place. Worth dropping by if you want to see this canyon walls. It's small place though. The other part of the park by the lake would be a nice place to picnic if you have the time

Wonderful place in the national park. Free of charge you get a guide with you on the walk to the formations. Give the guide a tip after you get back to the parking. Best time to visit is in the winter november to early february. If you go in the summer like I did, go there early in the morning, after that it gets to hot.

It takes 1 hour to travel from the city. The road is good and there is no traffic jam. When you reach the park, there will be officers to provide service and recommend routes. It takes about 1 hour to walk around. The walking path is very natural and amazing. If you come to Chiang Mai, don't miss it.

I am actually surprised there are not many visitors here. This is Chiang Mai's mini version of the Grand Canyon and the rock formations caused by millennia of erosion are spectacular. Equally interesting are the gullies we have to walk through to get to the rock formation and back. It's a short, enjoyable 400m walk, but make sure you park your car at Parking Lot 3 instead of Parking Lot 1 (the main entrance). That will save you walking up several flights of steps on your return.

You’ll need a car to get here .
Then it’s about a 400 metre walk to the main rock formations down and back up about 150 steps .
There is a small cafe next to the car park .
Well worth a trip here - a well laid out trail and quite spectacular rock formations

We stopped here after Doi Inthanon National Park. From the parking lot to the walls, it is a short 400 meters - some upwards, but we took short breaks to catch our breath. The walls are beautiful. Are there beehives near the top of the walls? We did not know to look, so we don’t know. Atthe view point, which we got to by car, you can see over the top of trees and can get a glimpse of the walls from a distance. This was a nice stop.

Pha Chor is located about 30 kilometers south of Chiang Mai and appears to be a relatively new Thai national park. From highway 108, one must drive about 13 kilometers to the park entrance. There is a modest park entrance fee but well worth the money. After passing the entrance, you must drive almost 3 kilometers on a dirt road that is somewhatchallenging for the average motorist. Eventually the road leads to a hilltop parking area with a nearby park building that serves simple refreshments. A walking trail leads down a steep hillside to a dry creekbed on the floor of the gulch.
At this point, the creek bed serves as the actual trail that meanders to another set of stairways to the top of another hill. Once at the top, there is a spectacular panoramic view point that overlooks the rugged Pha Chor canyon. It appears like a miniature version of the Grand Canyon in Arizona with sheer sandstone cliffs and fascinating areas of erosion. From the view point, you must walk down another long series of steps to the floor of the canyon. The trail takes you to the central area of the Pha Chor canyon where a deck has been constructed. This area is a photographer's dream with many oportunites for great picture taking! As you exit the canyon, the trail continues to meander through another small creek bed att he bottom of a gulch with steep sides. Eventually it connects with the main trail that leads back up the mountain to the park building. Pha Chor canyon is a great place for family fun or just to take friends to experience one of the most unique parks in norther Thailand. Easily accessible from highway 108 and it is possible to walk the entire park trail within 2 hours.

It's a new attraction and probably popular among tourist for its Instagram worthy photos. However, no matter how good the photo looks, in your heart, you know it's too small and ordinary to be an attraction worth the long drive. Be prepared to be underwhelmed.

However, I will still add another photo to the collection. It's easy to get good photos here but all the more will first time visitor to be disappointed.
