I spent a wet Sunday exploring this amazing historic site. My guide Noel, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly. The road signposts to the trackway need to be improved. An injection of money to preserve more fully the exposed timbers is badly needed. The large expanse...More

Fabulous important site here. But a lack of signage, nothing for children in terms of a worksheet or touch exhibits etc. OPW should be trying to encourage families. The video is over 20 years old. It is badly dated and of poor quality. No food...More

Great place to visit, with walkways across the bog. The staff are very friendly and helpful, with lots of knowledge of the area, possiblity more interesting than the academics. If you are in the area, go visit.

Well-financed excavation and preservation of a 148 BC roadway over bog land. Many hands felled hundreds of large oak trees, split them in half, and somehow moved them from a distance to line a trackway 2 km long. Knowledgeable staff lead tours--allow an hour.

An absolute delight. We had a fantastic afternoon at Corlea today. The interpretive centre is really interesting with lots of panels giving information on the trackway itself, how it was made and the details of the find and excavation. It also had a really interesting...More
