The Barge & Barrel closed on last Sunday. Don't know what's going to happen. Such a shame as it was a nice pub. Andrew & Tracey were a lovely couple. No pub left to go to at the moment on Park Road.

Do not come here at 6pm on a Friday - avoid like the plague. However, at any other time excellent beer and family friendly with a good outside area.

As soon as you walk in you know that it is ,as reported before, a drinking establishment. Spacious the decor seemed to me to be out of the 1930 s as were the toilets which were not up to modern standards. Good ale friendly staff...More

Excellent beers, and friendly staff and locals. Tried several of their beers now, and never been disappointed. We've been here a few times, and just love the place. We always pop in when we're in the area.

The ale is fantastic, from pale session beers to dark and warming old ales and porters. This pub has had to cope with the loss of Elland Bridge in the floods and should thrive once the bridge re-opens. Don't expect delicate, gourmet food - this...More
