Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love this beautiful rainforest boardwalk through the Daintree rainforest. It’s short, easy, the lush plant & tree life is amazing and cassowary sightings are common (I saw one on my first visit). It’s definitely a place I’ll keep returning to and is my favourite of the several short boardwalks in the Daintree/Cape Tribulation area.

The best of the short walks in the Daintree/Cape Tribulation region. I felt the Jindalba walk was magical experience compared to the other boardwalks, as they were mainly through mangroves, whereas Jindalba was through rainforest and what I could only describe as Jurassic Park atmosphere and wilderness. I could easily walk this every day and take in something different each time. Cannot recommend this enough!

A friend and I completed the Jindalba Circuit walk on my latest trip to the Daintree. I had been to Jindalba Boardwalk many times but didn’t realise there was a longer circuit track until recently. After completing the Jindalba Circuit I can say that this is the perfect walk to do if you are keen to immerse yourself in the rainforest of the Wet Tropics.

The Circuit walk is a moderate in terms of difficulty and is 3km long with some uphill sections and a couple of easy rainforest creek crossings. From a botanical perspective, the walk is off the charts good, with abundant plant and tree diversity thought dense lowland Daintree rainforest. It is also cassowary habitat and you could easily spot one of these dinosaur like birds (as I have done on the boardwalk in the past). The walk encompasses the base of Mount Alexandra. You may also spot a Bennet’s tree kangaroo, musky-rat kangaroo & paradise kingfisher on the walk.

I stopped here on the way back from cape trib and did the bigger walk as well as thr board walk.. about 45 minutes easy stroll. A few little hills to get your heart rate up but a nice intro level walk in the rain forest

The parking lot of Jindalba Boardwalk (gps -16.238604, 145.4321809) is after the parking lot of the Discovery Center. Google maps does not know the road but Openstreetmap does show the road and the boardwalk.
It is free to visit.

The 700m boardwalk goes through dry forest. It does have many information boards along the route. We did see a Boyd's Forest Dragon close to the path.
No crowd like Mossman Gorge but just a few other tourists.

There is also a longer Jindalba Long Loop Walk without boardwalk possible.

Take the long loop! The boardwalk is lovely but very busy with bus tours and the like. Cassowaries were spotted regularly on this walk by many of the other travellers we spoke to. Our children were also lucky enough to spot one!

This short circuit is on an elevated boardwalk the whole circuit and takes you deep into the forest making an easy walk. However there are quite a few steps along the way but a handrail will help if you are unstable.

If you have a few days, go to the Centre because you can keep going back for a week. If you only have a day in the area like I did, the boardwalk is free and a great way to see the rainforest! Take your time and you will be great plants, spiders, and lizards. I wish there were plaques along the way to tell you what some species of plants were.

We came across the boardwalk by accident as we took a wrong turn and we are very thankful we did. This was the highlight of our trip to the Daintree area, it was amazing and felt like a true rainforest experience walking through as it was not commercialised and no crowds (we were there in wet season). Once you've done this boardwalk, the Daintree Discovery Centre is underwhelming. Unless you want to get a lot of information about the Daintree I wouldn't suggest doing the Discovery Centre, but just this boardwalk instead.

From the boardwalk you can also take a side-roundtrip through the forest This is well marked with yellow arrows. Many of the arrows have reflectors so you can possibly also walk it in the dark, using a torch. Original rainforest trail.
