Excellent WWII museum
Aug 2017 • Solo
The museum is full of WWII material in really good condition. The visit guides you trough a series of dioramas where items such as weapons, vehicles, uniforms are placed into context. The only drawback is that the information is displayed only in norwegian but they give you an english book with the main information (hence I only give it 4 stars). At least 1.5 to 2 hours for a visit.

War History Museum
May 2017 • Solo
Really good visit, all the displays were in Norwegian but I was given an English guide book free of charge. Spent two hours going around all the exhibits.
The Germans did not have a big influence in Haugesund but this museum also covered areas beyond.
Entrance was 50 krona, I travelled by bus (No 60) from the centre of town (Hospital) for 45 krona.

Excellent displays
Jul 2016 • Friends
The Museum is some way out of the town but well worth a visit. The Museum provides all visitors with a guide in English. This guide can be returned to the Museum or purchased at the end of the visit. I found the displays excellent. The large displays show in great detail the lives of the Norwegian people under the occupation of Nazi Germany. There was one graphic display called "The downfall" showed just what Berlin would have looked like at the end.

Nice presentation...
Jul 2015 • Family
Probably one of the best WWll museums in Norway. Nice and lifelike presentation, and a good collection of things. Opening hours is not the best, so check online when it is open, espesially outside summer months.

Occupation museum
Jun 2015
Very interesting occupation museum. Lots of local collected artefacts as well as gathered objects from more distant places. Nice displays, but there is a general lack of the text plates with object specification text one would expect. So, do 'lease' a copy of the museum's Guide Booklet in reception if available.
One of Norway's best museums in this genre. Well worth a visit ! Open from May 1st to August 31th.

This museum shows the live of Norwegian people during WW II. The exhibits Look very much real. Museum cas a bit collection of military tecnics from the period 1940-45. It's preferably to have an English speeking friend or a guide while visiting this museum. Most of writen information presented was in Norwegian, when we were there. You can borrow or buy a booklet in English to learn more, if you travel alone.
