More
The Sculpture Trail, running along the final part of the Coast to Coast cycle route was created over a decade from 1991 to 2001 by sculptor Colin Wilbourn. The trail brings together Sunderland’s past and present, and takes in the riverside, right to the beach and sea, passing National Glass Centre and Sunderland Marina on the way.

Lovely walk from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. I walked over Wearmouth Bridge and down the steep steps. Watched an artist painting a picture of the dredger. So peaceful.

Enjoyed this walk from Sunderland back along the river, past the National Glass Centre and marina to Seaburn and would recommend it. At the marina we were given information from a local about some of the really excellent sculptures, and may have missed the artwork...More

This marks the end or the beginning of the C2C bike ride. There is some parking but its always busy down by the wharf. There is a few shops for chips and ice cream.

An amazing trail. We always do this walk into Sunderland town centre when visiting family in Roker. Then a quick sprint up the steps next to the bridge to finish off.

We have walked along this trail many times with my family and young/teenage children. We visit Sunderland every year sometimes more than once and we never get tired of this walk. There's nothing like this where we are down south. The sculptures tell a story,...More

Spent a fantastic morning on the Trail, very informative and educational, will certainly do it again. Brought back memories of old Sunderland. Why isn't it given a higher profile for local people and visitors to the area?
