Scruffy rooms, 'pictures' blue tacked onto walls (one was curling up!) Shabby and with the pictures of a local lass dressed as a complete clown an insult. If this is the best Sunderland can do...I despair.awful.

Not being into art anytime in past this place was an eye opener and the many of the works viwed were superb and eye catching....makes you realise the talen that's needed to create such wonderful objects.....and realise that art is fundamental in a civilised and including society.....well done Sunderland Arts People.

Travelled from Darlington to look st the paintings/art as suggested by my Daughters art teacher. Erm what pictures or pieces of art???? There was 3 pictures on a huge wall.

This is for contemporary art and although I like classic art better I am always prepared to look even if sometimes I do not like or understand exhibitions. I believe it has two main exhibition spaces as well as ancillary rooms for small kids and meetings etc. The main space is quite large obviously depending on the exhibitions - at the moment showing work by Jeffrey Dennis which although maybe not to my taste I found very interesting particularly as there is a video interview and supporting material to give you an understanding of what the artist's creative processes were. I enjoyed it - keep an open mind and you will too
