    After Dark Dinos Event
Another lovely event at Paradise Wildlife Park. The After Dark Dinos evening was a hit with the little ones getting their photos taken with the ‘dinosaurs’, having their faces painted, playing miniature golf (for a small additional fee), and walking round the dinosaurs, which felt more realistic at night. The silent disco with inflatable dinosaurs and glow puppet show at the end topped off the evening.

    Great family day
We won a tour of paradise park earlier in the year and decided to use the voucher this half term. Booking was made very easy. When we arrived we were well looked after in the discovery centre. However the star was definitely Simon! I can not praise this man enough. He was very enthusiastic and passionate about the animals and was incredible with my two young daughters. He showed us around the park and we got a chance to hold/feed some animals. Simon along the way was very polite and provided great educational points along with a warm manor with my 4 year old. The food was actually really good compared to most other parks/zoos we have visited. There was a lot of attractions for the whole family. And we would definitely revisit. Thank you paradise park and a bigger thank you to Simon.

Great family day out. So many options of things to do.
An incredible zoo with wonderful enrichment for the animals and really cleverly constructed enclosures and walk ways to view the animals discretely from many different aspects. There’s also a couple of play parks and a great dinosaur park to walk round. We filled 5 hours easily and that only included one of the keeper talks that happen every half an hour. There’s even a soft play if it’s wet for no extra cost. My 4 year old and seven year old had a fantastic day! Lunch in the diner was quick and reasonable priced for a captive audience. If we lived nearby I would definitely buy membership.

Incredible Visit - This is a MUST!
Wow…what an incredible place to visit!! The range of animals is fantastic, and everywhere you turn there is another little area to explore! Everyone is so friendly and happy all the time! The animals and their enclosures were wonderful, and you can tell that the owners really think about giving their animals the best environments possible. We visited during half term, and it wasn’t too busy at all! In fact, it was dressed up beautifully for Halloween. Come out with pumpkins everywhere and lots of themed activities to do. We had the pleasure of going in the dinosaur land, which was incredible! It was really atmospheric and engaging for both children and adults. And along the way, there were lots of opportunities to get great photos to! We were really lucky, that on our trip we just happened to bump into two of the brothers from one, zoo three (our daughters favourite show), and they were so humble and approachable and talked to us about their plans for the wildlife Park over the next 5 to 10 years, and even took the time to talk to our daughter, which was a real hit! There are so many little parks, mini golf, cafes (reasonably priced too) as well as brilliant talks from the staff and entertainment shows. All in all, I would recommend everyone to go to this wildlife park…it’s fantastic!

Dinosaur sound effects need to be turned down, not fair on the animals
Been going here since I was a child, great day overall but the dinosaur section is a bit out of control. The dinosaur noises are unbearably loud and annoying and the poor animals in the woodland section (reindeer, deer, foxes, wolves) have to listen to that all day every day. If the zoo is interested in being ethical it should turn these sounds right down or carry out some other interventions to block the noise for the poor things.
Hi there, We are so glad you had a great day! We can assure you are animals closest to the World of Dinosaurs are comfortable in their environment and well looked after by our amazing zoo team. Thank you for your review and we hope to see you again soon. I will pass on your feedback to the team.

    Nice Zoo
Nice zoo, very big. I believe I got 20k steps that day (10k at paradise wildlife park and 10k at the local river lee country park). It can get busy in some places such as the reptile place (which was hot). There are places for children to play. Overall a great day out

    BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT EVER
I took my daughter to PWP to meet the Lemurs experience today. What a wonderful day she had and this was her Christmas gift - she had such a lovely day. All the staff were so friendly & helpful. The food and drink was so good and great value - I am vegetarian and the choice was fab. The animals were happy, well looked after and cared for. The enclosures were spacious and modern, there was plenty of enrichment. Fantastic day out 10/10

    Brilliant family day out!
We had a fantastic time at the Paradise Wildlife Park. We were impressed not only by the array of animals, but how well looked after they were. In addition to this, the enclosures were spacious and well-constructed, offering not only different vantage points from different levels, but good vantage points. We went to three of the talks during the day and all of the staff delivering these did so with professionalism and an abundance of knowledge. They were happy to answer our questions after their talks as well. There were a couple of animals that we went to see where we got talking to keepers. Although not official 'talks' they were more than happy to provide us with information. It was a day out that was pleasurable for two adults 70+, two adults 40+ and two children. We would definitely recommend and the park will only get better after the refurbishment and rebranding as Hertfordshire Zoo in 2024. We will be returning!

    Best Grotto Experience
BEST GROTTO EXPERIENCE! Thank you to the elves who chatted to my children whilst waiting and gave them a sticker, the wait wasn’t bad and considering it’s free I was surprised at how quickly we got through the queue. The Father Christmas was incredible- so patient and kind and it felt like he really listened to every word the children were saying and he gave really great responses. The children were chuffed with their grotto gifts. We come to the park often in the year but this was the first time we came over Christmas and we will definitely be coming back again. Thank you

    Paradise Found for Families
A wonderful place to visit any time of year. Easy free parking and plenty of access for non able bodied visitors. The added dinosaur adventure is included in the price and the Starbucks coffee with tumble jungle area is the perfect place to take a break while the kids play. During the summer months there is a splash pool area that is simply brilliant for the young kids and if it’s really hot, dipping your feet in to cool down. Value for money and plenty to do for a whole day out with the family

The zoo is extremely well organised during the Covid-19 restrictions. The zoo wasn’t over-crowded even on the weekend, social distancing was possible. The animals are all still visible, hardly any areas are restricted apart from the tiger area being closed but this is due to them carrying out some new works to be open in October 2020.
We saw all the animals the children wanted to, they walked round the dinosaur park, played in the park & had a round of crazy golf -only £3 per person; which I thought was really reasonable.
We had a lovely family day out!

Compact entertainment area. Your fee gets you access to most things.

The dinosaur walk was nice. The dinosaurs move and make noise. Designed for younger children. My three year old loved it. Lasts about 30 mins.

We then rode the train. £2 for a 5 minute ride through the dinosaurs and with a view of the wolves and the deer. Kid loved it.

The zoo part was decent enough. Quite a few animals were not visible. I don't know if the animals were present but not visible or just absent. For example in the snake room we only saw two snakes. In the rainforest section we saw very few animals.

The talks were good. Well worth attending though my youngster wasn't overly keen.

Plenty of little things to do like a fire engine or a soft play.

The new lion area was impressive and the tigers will have a new habitat soon.

Food and drink is the usual price (ie over priced) but you can take your own.

It's not London Zoo, but it's a good day out. Look out for vouchers to reduce fee. I think the pricing for young children is a bit unimpressive, and the group discount is minimal. There is an option to pay for a yearly membership but it will only become financially beneficial if you intend to attend 3 or 4 times a year.

In terms of those with mobility issues; everywhere is largely flat and clear. Plenty of casual seating. Viewing platforms are only available by steps (at the moment).

Staff friendly and well informed.

A good day out.

Paradise is a brilliant zoo, the entrance price is very good for what you are getting and when you think that they have to pay to feed and house the animals and the staff, it works out well. It has a great section of different animals, all were in very good sized and clean enclosures, with lots of enrichment for them. The keepers are some of the best we have seen at zoos, all very knowledgeable and helpful. It is good to see that they are going around the zoos and re-building or redoing the animal enclosures, the new white lion enclosure is amazing for the lions and the public. It is also a great zoo for taking photos of the animals. The restaurant has a very good menu and good prices for what you get. The animal experiences they do are very good and well-priced, we have been able to feed or go in with most of the animals there over the last few years, which has made some unforgettable memorials. From hand feeding Rocky and their female African leopard (When they had one), to going in with the meerkats, Red ruffed lemurs, Tapirs and more. We have been luckily enough to go to 44 zoos around the UK and we think paradise is one of the best. We would highly recommended paying Paradise Wildlife park a visit.

We had the best day at Paradise park getting to meet Nam Pang and Tilly the red pandas. We originally was meant to do this experience in April but due to covid it was cancelled but luckily we was able to reschedule for a date we wanted for
The staff were great and really helpful. Feeding the pandas was an experience I will never forget. The weather was great too
There isn’t as much animals here as you’d expect in a zoo but it is still a great place. The food vendors here are extremely expensive so if you’re going I’d recommend to bring food already

Really disappointed with my visit today! I booked my tickets online as it’s a hot day and wanted to take my kids somewhere with a splash park! When I got to the park I was told that the splash park was shut! And that it should say on there website, which it didn’t!!! I got to the park at 2:30 I then stood in a queue for ice creams and drinks for 25 mins, to be told when I got to the front they only had two sorts of ice cream left, and that the water I wanted was warm as only just gone In the fridge. I then went to get chips for my son, to be served brown rock hard chips that had been sat there for god knows how long. That was enough for me. I went to reception to ask for a refund I got to reception at 3pm by this time I’d been in the park now half an hr!! I was not seen till 3:20 as the only person serving was dealing with another problem at that time! So I ask the car park attendant if he could get someone else for me to speak to. The lady told me she couldn’t give me a refund as her CEO wasn’t there but took my details, she told me that it was on the website that the splash park was shut, so I had to show her the website on my phone for her to believe me that it wasn’t on the website. I no times are hard after covid but they should have been honest about the slash park because lots of other families were upset they had laid all that money and wasn’t getting full use of the facility’s. I was there an hr today and I paid nearly £70 to stand in a queue for some vile food warm drinks then another queue to get my money bk!! Not happy at!!

Hi there, We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience. We hope this addresses some problems for you. We are still phase 2 of reopening which means there are limitations to what is open, including the splash pool. You can see this here: https://www.pwpark.com/news/paradise-wildlife-park-re-opening-phases/. The splash pool is still considered an unsafe area so in order to keep all our visitors safe we are keeping the pool closed for now. As we have suffered a huge financial loss during the lockdown period, we are working with a skeleton staff and on busy days we are doing everything we can to meet the high demands. We appreciate your frustration here. If you would like to discuss the refund, please give us a ring on 01992 470490 (235)

To be honest I really wanted to give pwlp 5 stars, I've been loads of times over the years and loved it, but this year was a bit of a disappointment.
It might be due to covid but from what I could see there were half the amount of animals there used to be, it literally took less than 45 min to get round the animals, I had to fork out extra money for crazy golf to make the day last longer.
The dinosaurs are really cool but I wanted to take my daughter to see real animals and if I wanted to take her to a playground( couldn't really understand why there were so many in there) I've got that down the road. Highlight was watching the wolves come to life when they caught a live rat that was running around.
Even though I was disappointed my daughter did enjoy herself, but alot money for so few animals, and starts to get expensive when you have to pay for more activities when you get there because you could literally get round this in 2.5 hours and that's taking your time.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback and we do apologise that you feel like you didn't enjoy your time with us. We do house over 800 animals and work continuously to ensure the best possible welfare and habitats for our animals. We have our World of Dinosaurs to highlight the movement of animals over time to show the past, present and future, as well as an educational section in a fun way as dinosaurs feature on the UK national curriculum. We once again apologise and we hope you are able to visit us in the future and see the continuous work we do the animals here and our conservation efforts.

We visited this park during the school holidays with my niece and nephew, and a friend with her child.
Upon arrival the signage for car parking was very clear, with staff ushering you into the correct car park as there is an overflow car park on the opposite side of the road to the actual park.
There is a toilet block accessible from the disabled parking area by the entrance to the park.
We had pre booked our tickets online and showed our confirmation on arrival.
They offer you a child’s activity booklet for 50p which we purchased, inside there is a map of the whole park and where the amenities are.
The dinosaur section was great which lots of photo opportunities, nearby to this is a playground area which keeps the kids entertained.
There is a main stage where scheduled shows are put on which were interactive. On the day we were there, there was a signer also on stage for children. I don’t know if this was provided by the park, or if she was employed by a family/group for the day but I was very impressed to see this.
Bathrooms are clean and well signposted.
We brought a picnic but did order some hot food and ice creams.
Food is reasonably priced for a theme park, but the wait for food is far too long. I had three people in front of me yet queued for over 20 minutes. The young lady serving was working very hard, her name was molly. She was very professional and polite and apologised for the wait, but there were plenty of staff in the kitchen behind her and visually around the restaurant so I am unsure why she was running the front counter totally on her own.
The wildlife animals were loved by the children and a few areas had viewing platforms above the enclosures. These were all accessible by ramp not stairs, so accessible for wheelchairs/scooters/prams etc
We spent about 6 hours here and would definitely re-visit.

I am afraid the visit was appalling, aside from it being overcrowded, but the state of the enclosures and the animals is infuriating. I was expecting much higher standards of animal welfare, saying it was disappointing is a huge understatement.

Whilst it's clear keepers do the best they can with enrichment etc, the actual space available is absolutely NOT ON.

The vast majority of the animals I saw were displaying stereotypical behaviour, in a way I have rarely seen so bad. This spanned from one of the Red Pandas doing the same circuit 3 times in the few minutes we were there, the meerkats similar, but by far the worst were the Jaguars. Although they did have outside space available to access, there were two of them pacing up and down RELENTLESSLY at the fence where most visitors pass through.

I went round again and checked on them 3 times in the course of the day (in case they had been waiting for food) and have taken various 1 minute plus videos of them pacing up and down, like broken disks. It was absolutely heartbreaking and most of all inexcusable!

If you cannot keep the animals healthy, there is no place for "Paradise" (ironic) wildlife park on this planet.

I will never visit again unless it's to shut you down.

Seriously reconsider your enclosures and whether you are able to sustain basic animal welfare.

It's not anyone's fault that zoos have always been some form or other of a prison, but if you can't keep the animals you have relatively healthy, then you shouldn't be a zoo, let alone a wildlife park, "paradise" you can't even dream of.

Very expensive, not good value for money. Not developed as well no space for the animals. Lack of social distancing and too over crowded during COVID-19. I would recommend other zoos for the same price or less than this as there was barely any animals to see, no maps are even given like other zoos do.

Hi, we are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience. In regards to the price, we experienced an extreme loss in funds during lockdown so we cannot afford to put in place the usual 6% discount on the website. We need to ensure that we can survive the off peak winter season. Your support is very much appreciated and we thank you for contributing to our charity. We are only allowing 1/3 of our usual capacity intake, which aligns with government guidelines. We have also been certified "Good to Go' by the Visit England organisation, stating that we are meeting the government covid advice. However, we cannot control every person that comes on site. Thank-you again for your visit and we hope to see you again soon.

Went for my sons 4th birthday and had an amazing day out from start to finish. The dinosaurs were so life like (to my 4 year old anyway), there is a small train which goes through the dinosaur trail, was a bit disappointed to have to pay £2 each to go in when already paid to enter the park but hey ho. There are a few little slides dotted around and then a big play park which was good. The zoo was brilliant, couldn't believe how close you could get to the animals, will be returning when the new tiger enclosure opens. Everything is close together which is good for little legs. Would definitely recommend for a fun day out for all the family.
