Visited F & F yesterday (17.11.2023) and had a brilliant time ........ added to which, it wasn't raining and the sun even put in an appearance !!!!
It was an excellent way to spend 3 hours, educational and informative and relevant.
Sadie is a knowledgeable and passionate advocate for birds of prey.
The Centre is "small but perfectly formed", which adds to its appeal. It's like a small, up-market hotel for a number of very select guests, who want for nothing !
There are excellent information boards throughout, containing lots of facts and details about all the birds on show.
The group of 5 participants (plus 1 spectator) had the opportunity to become acquainted with 6 birds, from the diminutive Nala (Kestrel) up to the majestic Billie Jean (European Eagle owl), as well as Arya (Peregrine/Lanner x), Bert the Barn Owl, Rossi (Harris Hawk) and the delightful Mouse (Buzzard). All were absolutely beautiful, magnificent birds in prime condition.
Definitely money well spent with plenty of great memories and pictures, including a cracker which Sadie subsequently emailed to me, thank you Sadie.
Go and visit, you will not be disappointed (guaranteed), as by doing so you'll be helping to secure the future of the Centre and the work that is being done there.

Had a fantastic owl experience here a few weeks ago. There were five of us put together in a group and we were able to fly four owls and hold each of them on our arms. The birds were a Little Owl, Tawny Owl, Barn Owl and a huge European Eagle Owl and seeing them up close was amazing. Sadie is a completely dedicated owl expert and very passionate. Her knowledge is incredible and she gave us a lot of interesting information throughout the experience. It is obvious that all the birds are well cared-for and their well-being is the priority. Highly recommended!

We visited the centre this week. We bought the family experience for myself and my husband. This was a one to one experience with Sadie and 4 of the birds. We had an amazing time. My husband has always wanted to do this but I was more nervous. Sadie really put me at ease with the birds even the larger one's. The morning was amazing, Sadie gave us so much information and I can't believe how quickly the time went.
We took some pictures, but Sadie took loads for us and sent them to us which was really great.
Well worth the cost, the centre is lovely to walk around and see all the birds. The Centre is pristinely clean and well maintained. We both highly recommend the experience.

What a fabulous experience! We all had a fabulous time, hosted by Olivia. Her knowledge of the birds was incredible but more importantly, her love & affection for the birds was heartwarming.
We had such a great time that we’ve just made another booking.
Highly recommend this experience.

Birds of Prey are awesome! Fantastic and educational experience. Thanks Olivia!
We had over an hour with 4 different birds of Prey. I have never been so close to one before. Olivia the host was excellent, friendly and very knowledgable. We learnt a lot today from her and it was interesting and entertaining. The birds take off and land on your hand protected by a gauntlet. Great experience. We all loved it. We were 3 adults and 4 kids aged 8 to 13. Best experience of of our UK visit from Australia.

We were down from Scotland visiting my sister who lives in Wokingham. Luckily we picked the same week my niece was having her birthday party at Feathers and Fur (her birthday isn’t actually until mid August)
We knew nothing about about the place and wished we had gone a few hours in advance to see the fish shop, lizard shop, the big garden Center and have a general look around. The falconry part is very tidy and clean and bright and has lots of information boards. The birds looked very happy. Loved that it told you a bit about them and their birthdays. One of the birds was 30!!!…. I didn’t realise birds of prey got that old.
We were met by Olivia and another lady (didn’t catch her name) who made us feel welcome immediately. My sister had brought a birthday cake and some snacky things to have first of all and then it was 4 adults and 7 kids on a wee trek out the back of the garden Center to a grassy field for some flying. (Perfect location)
The kids flew 3 birds, an owl, a kestrel and a Harris hawk. Now I’ve been to at least 4 falconry displays and their success is always dependant on the host. These 3 birds weren’t the most exciting birds ever, I’ve seen vultures and golden eagles and bald eagles flown before but Olivia made it so interesting and the kids (and adults) hung on her every word. She obviously has a great deal of love and experience with the birds and it shows.
We all learned so much and Olivia was so approachable. She was probably a bit fed up with all my questions but didn’t show it.
Definitely recommend this place….. I would love to go back myself without the children so I could have all the birds to myself.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review, especially such a lovely one! It means a lot to us that you all enjoyed your time with us and that you could tell how happy our birds were. I have to disagree with you though.... I think my birds are definitely the most exciting ever!! (Although everything is on a much smaller scale when we fly to the little ones). I'm grinning from ear to ear reading this so thank you very much... oh! and I never ever get fed up with questions! - Olivia x
