Enjoy a family adventure at Fineshade Wood. Be challenged by our exciting play areas and cycling, or explore the wildlife and history on foot, before unwinding in the café or browsing in the cycle shop. Visitor centre is open from 10am to 5pm daily (except Christmas Day). From November till February the centre closes at 4pm during the week. The site is free to enter but parking charges apply.

We like these woods as the main tracks through them are wide and surfaced so there is no walking in the gloomy shade and getting stung or scratched. Cycling and horse riding allowed in some areas.

Although the pay and display parking is off-putting, it is actually worth it. The woods and paths are well maintained and you can follow defined length marked paths (in miles). The tea room does good food and you can hire a bike from the cycle...More

It takes about 45 mins with my 2.5 year olds, alternating between them running/dawdling around!
