This mine was traditionally the backbone of Ghenk where immigrants came to work in the mine. It is now a reminder of things past and is a very conveniently located attraction with art gallery and cafes.

Everyone knows that there were coal mines in Belgium and that they were closed many years ago, but to see what this cultural heritage meant to the people who worked in the mines, their families and their lives, was moving as well as breathtaking!
