Just a short walk from the city centre, the sandcastle is actually a bit wrong term for it since it is an area with sculptures made of sand, not actually a sandcastle. The sculptures are different each year. The entrance is free, but if your...More

This years (2017) exhibition began in June and continues open to the public until the end of August and I thoroughly recommend a visit if you are in the vicinity. It is an annual event, the sculptures being created by professionals invited from different countries....More

These life-size sand sculptures are really for the adults to enjoy. Even at the end of the season when the sand is starting to deteriorate, the details are just amazing. It is well worth a stop to spend some time admiring the craftsmanship.

This is must place to visit when in Lappeenranta! This year's medieval theme is the most charming and all the sculptures have been crafted with world class skills! You can't stop taking photos of each beautifully crafted sculpture!

If you are in the area, definitely visit. But too small to make a full day event out of it. 10-15 sculptures. But it's really nice and entertaining. We were done in 15 minutes

This year the sandcastles are even more impressive than during our previous visit three years ago. It is difficult to understand, how they can create so detailed sculptures (as you can see from attached photos) from sand. So. if you are close to Lappeenranta, visit here,...More
