Our whole family enjoyed visiting the market! You can wander thru enjoying stall after stall of wonder things ! Every shop is different and there is something for everyone! I'm sure we didn't get through a quarter of the market, we could have sent several...More

This is THE place to come if you have a penchant for antiques. My favourite flea market in the world. Easily accessible from Paris, it is based in the NW outskirts. Several markets making up one area, its worth taking a whole day to browse....More

Find your way past the cheap jeans and trainers at the start and you're in for a treat. I think of the marche aux puces more like a museum than a market (look but don't touch!). The antiques and modern designer objets d'art in the...More

If you make it through all the stalls selling cheap t shirts you can head into a vast series of antique markets. Chez Louisette toward the back is a really fun step back in time with a singer who channels Edith Piaf (foods not great...More

As other reviewers have mentioned, yes the lead up is quite sketchy. Hustlers selling every fake product under the sun. But it isn't that different from what I've seen in other places, people pushing up aggressively trying to sell. Just ignore, keep walking and you're...More

I thought it was an oldies market, instead beyond that it also has beautiful fine art galleries and many many nteresting shops. The only drawback is the surroudning, very run down.

We were led to believe that the market was open Sat/Sun for traders and Monday for the public. We may have got this wrong but by midday on the Monday the indoor markets were only about 20% open. If we come again we will research...More

I have been in many markets. This is not necesary to go. I prefer the one in Madrid or better of all Trastevere market in Rome. Many shops opened so late. And staff no good, even dirty, andmany clothes very simple

Is it cash only or do most places take credit card?

I really would not recommend using a credit card unless making a very expensive (and there are such stores) purchase. Take cash and, as a previous responder stated, cash may be more useful if you tend to haggle over prices.

I don't recall the price of the trunks. They have PLENTY of vintage Parisian clothing. I had the time of my life! Purchased some vintage Rodenstock sunglasses in excellent condition worth about 100 euros for only 20 euros. A... More

Does anyone know when it is open? And if you think it will be open New Years Day?

The Marche is many different shops in many different markets. A market might be open, but some/many of the shops might be closed. It is probably best to check with a few dealers in the Marche to see if they will be open.
