Don't drive past Caceres, stop off for an hour to see the old town and the Plaza Mayor you will not be disappointed as there is lots of history here. Nice tapas in the central restaurants too.

Cáceres is absolutely beautiful, like stepping back in time. There is so much history here. We spent 3 days exploring the old town and would have loved to stay longer.
