Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice place with remarkable shops, particularly the shop Bolsos Patri (it gathers the esence of Jerez fashion and the sweet shop (mantecadas or violet sweets, delicious).

A lovely central square in Jerez with impressive statue and fountain.
One of the reasons I have completed this review is to alert other visitors that the restaurants surrounding the square are not featured here on Tripadvisor although you can find them on other map sites. I think this is maybe because they have suffered from poor reviews and switched their listing off.
We visited Arenal 15 at the end of a fairly long day including visiting the Royal Equestrian Centre and then walking back into the city. Had I been able to review it here I would have marked it average and said it’s “fuel”. This is a phrase we use, as a couple, to describe food that is ok, palatable but not value for money because when you eat it you feel no emotion

A good lunch stop after visiting Tio Pepe Bodegas. Plenty of shade to relax under and more importantly right on top of a reasonably priced underground car park convenient for the Bodegas as well as the town centre.

This is probably the one place we stopped whlie in Jerez De La Frontera, except to sleep at some hotel that I can't remember the name of. It's a beautiful square, with lots of bars and cafes. The fountain and sculptures serve as a memorial to Jerez native Miguel Primo de Rivera, who became dictator of Spain in the 1920.

Probably one of the most impressive things about Jerez is the quantity of pretty and interesting squares there are in the old city and this is the most impressive. Lots of trees and fountains and a monumental statue.
This square serves as the nerve centre of the old city with a network of streets leading from it to other squares in the district. A wonderful focal point and a nice place to spend time.
The tourist information office is in this square.
BIG WARNING there are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants in the square, on the outskirts of the square and on the roads surrounding the square. Those big ones with all the tables and umbrellas and nice Spanish chaps offering you a table in the square are priced to a level that should be illegal and provide food of questionable quality. Those small, almost invisible cafes around the edges and in the streets immediately surrounding with a few high tables outside under the trees run by more friendly, elderly, much slower people provide much better quality and value. Walk around and look at where the locals are sitting compared to the tourists being fleeced at the eateries in the square,

This is a beautiful Plaza right in the middle of town and it’s typical of the area. It really does offer something for everyone as it is a great place to spend some time.

We did loads of walking around Jerez and this proved a great place to relax. Lots of benches in the shade to cool down and recharge the batteries. Whilst doing this you can admire the stunning fountains and sculptures.

It’s also great to just watch the Spanish at their business. There are many plazas in town but this is definitely one of the best ones to get to.

Beautiful plaza in the centre of Jerez with a large carousel. The plaza is surrounded by numerous bars and restaurants and many rental apartments. Its a good starting point if you are exploring Jerez with most of the other attractions within walking distance. The plaza also has a large underground car park.

The Plaza has in its centre a statue of former Spanish prime minister Miguel Primo de Rivera, on horseback and surrounded by fountains. Around the outside of the square are a number of cafes, where you can while away the time: we tried a few and they vary in quality, price and the insistence of the waiters trying to lure you in. When we visited, there was a display of copies of paintings held in the Prado Museum in Madrid, which was interesting.
