The "columbarium" is an ancient cemetery next to an impressive archeological site. The major exhibits in the columbarium contain some well-preserved mausoleums and a series of tombstones, wishing the departed that the "soil should be light on them" .

I presume that in the past the Casa de Mitreo and the Columbarios were separate attractions, but times is hard and now you have to go all the way to the southern end (Casa entrance) and walk all the way back again if you want...More

I found this the least interesting place to visit in Merida but maybe the heat had got to me. Accessed via Casa Del Miteo.

The Columbarios área is included in the entry of the Casa del Mitreo, just a few minutes walking, on the back part. There are several tumbstones of the Roman era, well preserved and protected, with explanations and translations.
