Absolutely beautiful bay and one of the most stunning beach bars I have visited in Greece. The view from Escapada was excellent, the vibe and interior was wonderful and Tonia was very polite and helpful. I was only charged 20 euros for the umbrella and sun lounger as a single person which was nice because I was charged 60 euros at St Paul's beach in Lindos even though I was by myself. Slightly confusing though because based on previous reviews it states that some of the guests did not pay for the sun loungers when they spend minimum 15 euros at the restaurant and I spend over 25 euros. Overall I would definitely recommend the beach and I wanted to hire the SUP but there was a strong offshore wind. The SUPs are a separate business to the beach bar and charged 20 euros per hour or 30 euros for 2 hours.

The beach is set in a sheltered area and is pretty shallow, so it’s easy to get in and out of the water. It’s clean and sandy. Be aware that there is not a lot of shade if you are going with small kids. The snack bar at the end is reasonably priced and you can sit and have a coffee, ice cream etc.

The massive wooden restaurant/bar thing on the beach is a bit bizarre. It’s hard to see how planning permission was granted for it. I have not removed any stars because it’s still a nice beach, but it dominates, pumping out trance/dance music all day. It owns the sun Ed’s which are €50, €40, €30 depending on which row you choose. I see other people have reported different prices so it clearly changes all the time. The bizarrely dressed staff wander around telling people off for hanging towels from the spokes of the parasol that they have paid for. We had one drink in the bar and although it was very nice, we did not return as it felt very unwelcoming.

Still a lovely beach though, with plenty of space to take your own drinks/food and enjoy yourself.

Glystra Beach Bar and all of the loungers are gone, destroyed in last years wildfires. This leaves a pristine Beach with clear water that is easily accessible but no facilities at all. Whilst the bar was quite good, food and lounger hire made this a slightly costly option. If you want a relatively quiet, beautiful and overall free Beach trip, consider here. Don't forget your drinks, not a lot of shade....

I was disappointed. It’s cloudy here when it’s not anywhere else, probably as it’s nestled between really tall mountains. The sun beds were comfy and u get a towel but we were there ages before a guy said we can’t have our own food or drink there despite multiple people doing it and we had to still pay 30 euros for beds and umbrella. The beach was lack lustre. Much nicer places to go like Anthony Quinn bay or kallithea springs. Just give this place a miss. Restaurant is pricey so you’re stuck drinking and eating expensively if you’re not allowed your own drink. I felt like I had to stay for hours to make value for money on the beds and felt guilty drinking water I had brought with me. Imagine coming along and being told they’re 30 euros (which we were) and then not for ages later being told u can’t have your own food or drink. You’re stuck. And if that’s all the money you have that day that’s wrong. There should be a clear sign. Wouldn’t return. The beach didn’t wow me. There’s toilets and showers but no changing facilities. Toilets are large enough to change in. Parking gets rammed

In the past Glystra was my favorite beach in Rhodes. A restaurant was recently built that also manages beach chair rental, which completely changed the experience at Glystra. The restaurant blares an elevator version of techno music and beach chairs are 30 Euros for two people. So if you like to hear the sound of the water hitting the beach, forget about Glystra. Local residents are not pleased with the changes and I can see why. The natural setting of Glystra is gone forever. I gave three stars because if you like a cosmopolitan ambience without peace and quiet Glystra is the place for you.

The beach was certainly appealing before the fire in August 2023. Now you lie on the pebble beach, without sunbeds and umbrellas, behind them coked tree remains, on the left the burned-out restaurant, just a burnt skeleton and visually rather deterrent.
The bay itself is beautiful - if you equip yourself with umbrella and gravel-suitable pads.

Glystra beach is a lovely sandy beach close to Lindos with clear, calm and shallow water that makes it a perfect choice for families with young children. It is a relatively small beach therefore not crowded - there is good parking space very close to the water so you do not need to walk long distances under the sun! There’s a small cafe at one end for those wanting to buy drinks and snacks too.
Umbrella and 2 sun beds are reasonably priced at 10 euros however if you go late(we got there around 6pm) you are not charged for using them.

Perfect choice for either a quick dip or a whole day at the beach!

Lovely beach/bay with open clear water perfect for snorkelling. There is a tiki bar/restaurant which serves excellent food. They also have large soft sun loungers which are free as long as you spend minimum €15 euros at the bar/restaurant. We spent 4 hours here and it was lovely

After several years I returned to this magnificent place, of which I had a fantastic memory... The perched city never disappoints. On the beach and the sea we draw a pitiful veil... Full of speedboats and boats carrying a lot of crap into the sea. The water is smelly, with an uninviting color, ranging from yellow to green and looking at the reflections looks just oily. It is definitely not worth paying the 7 € parking plus possible rental of sunbeds and umbrella. There are places nearby where the sea is a sight, without risking getting some irritation from the oily water.

We came to the beach last week and I have to say it was amazing! The loungers were 10€ each which was acceptable, they were the most comfortable sun beds we’ve ever used. We had club sandwiches and fries which were spot on. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive and the view was just perfect. It’s a really lovely sandy beach with toilets and wash facilities. I wish we had spent more days at the beach. I would highly recommend if you’re staying local to go here. The restaurant inside looks beautiful.
