One should not miss this place if they want a small piece of history from WW-2. The collection is so huge that we went for an hour and came after spending double the time. That too because we had a flight to catch . All this at a very fair price of 100 nok. Do visit if in svolvær /lofoten.

This museum has been created by one man over 42 years. Absolutely amazing. Probably the world's most comprehensive collection of WWII German uniforms, weapons, equipment, personal effects and history, focusing on the German invasion and occupation of Norway. Also, how the Russians, Germans, and Norwegian military (and a little about the US involvement in Norway during the war), campaigns fared... More

This museum is a labor of love, the product of years of collecting. The Lofoten islands were the location of a successful allied raid, and then subjected to Nazi occupation. The displays are set up for a vivid remembrance of World War II, by combining war artifacts, uniforms and mementos from daily life during this period. The museum's hours coincide... More

A very thought provoking musuem. It vividly records an appalling chapter in European history and effects upon all involved. This little musuem is packed with many interesting exhibits and stories. Well worth a visit.

Fascinating museum with an extraordinary collection of wartime objects, including Disney characters painted by Hitler, an enigma machine, uniforms, weapons, photos, and even a recreation of a Gestapo interrogation room (rather scary!). This part of Norway had a brought I me during the war so to get the best from the visit it would be worth reading up about the... More

fantastic collection of uniforms and artefacts fom 1940 - 1945 in Norway. It is a museum not to be missed and so well put together. Unfortunately it didn't open until 6.00pm could have lspent a lot longer there, and the gentleman who owned it couldn't have been more helpful in explaining anything you asked. well worth a visit

This museum is amazing, the amount and variety of militaria especially uniforms is huge. We were lucky in that the owner was opening up at 3pm for a group, otherwise we would have had to come back at 6.30pm when Hurtigruten docks. Good way to pass an hour or so

This amazing collection of WW2 memorabilia really makes one think . The devotion of the owner to collecting items and remembering the past is astounding . It's not modern at all but an incredible assortment of memorabilia , including German pieces rarely seen . The owner greets you on arrival and is an amazing man to talk to . Well... More

I am not really comfortable that I am scoring this five, but am doing so to ensure that people see the artefacts, collection and in many cases very rare items from a very difficult period in European and world history. Many of the items on display were rare and indeed in some cases you would be surprised that such items... More
