Pound for pound this is the best course in Vilamoura. It can be a bit tough on a high handicapper like me and so be careful when you get your driver out because them pine 🌲 can get in the way ! Medium fast greens, picturesque water holes, some wide fairways and so definitely worth a thrash. Plus there's a... More

Tough green approach shots and sloped green makes this course tough on short game. Yet the wide fairways allow the big hitter to make use of their driver. Trees are tall with very little ground cover so easy to find a stray ball. Watch out for bunkers. Well maintained with friendly staff and a small shop. Open through Christmas as... More

Very good food and at a reasonable price. The driving range was 9 euros for 50 balls and a couple of hire clubs . Converts to about £8 so not cheap. It seems that all the golf clubs around Vilamoura are owned by the same company so prices are high for the golf. A monopoly is never good.

Really enjoyed this course. Quite a challenge but good fun. Lovely houses all along the side of the course which you weave in and out of during your round. We started our round at 2pm and ended up playing in the dark!! In fact we had to miss out the last two holes. Very well organised course and we would... More

Actually played here July 2014, this course is tree lined with generous fairways. Greens were in good condition, if you stay on fairway course straightforward enough, if in the trees then just play sideways. Worth a play suits all handicaps although low handicappers would find it easy enough. Nice club house with balcony for drinks.

As a high handicapper coming to the Algarve filled me some fear of the sort of courses I might encounter which my game may not be able to stand up to. When I tried the Pinhal however I think it is the easiest golf course I've ever played. With the exception of a couple of holes, most of them felt... More

This course has seen better days in places but we really enjoyed the game. Similar to the Old Course with tree lined fairways. Some really tough holes even though there is little water and no more than an average number of bunkers. The 13th is an animal of a hole, 550yd par 5 and its up hill all the way.... More

Nice course. Plenty of overhanging trees provide a significant degree of challenge for most golfers. If you stray off line you may well find your ball but have to play sideways or under the trees to be able to get back into position. Course in good condition (fairways, tees and greens all high quality). We played during August using summer... More

Pinhal is ideal for a cheaper course in the area. Front nine has lots of trees to cope with, so ball control is vital. Though you don't need driver off every tee. Small things like manicuring of tees mark course down. Always prefer not to have a grassy lie on the tee. Greens are really soft compared to other courses.... More
