Go past Bivongi and follow signs to the cascate del marmarico car park (parco Nicholas Green). The people there will tell you that it will take you hours to do the walk and you need to start in the early morning, that the path is bad and you need to take a jeep and pay €7 per person. This is not true! The path is fine - it takes the same narrow route as the jeep (better walking than feeling sick in a tortuous off-road trip). It takes 90 minutes to walk to the falls. We believed the people there (who drive the jeeps) and didn’t go as we were looking for a decent walk - not more time in a car. Local friends subsequently told us that we would have been perfectly ok to walk it.

We visited with our 8 year old daughter. Firstly the ride up if you are nervous with heights is terrifying but otherwise very safe as drivers are excellent. The trek is moderate but do not take very small children or strollers etc as requires climbing. You must have good shoes and be a little fit, it is not a paved walkway! Just go to the bivongi cafe pay €35 for the jeep and it is all easy, friendly an fun.... just don’t look down!

Easy to reach, you can use the jeep service (for 7 euro brings you near the falls and takes you back after your walk). The lowest pool is easy to reach by feet, the second and third polls are harder to reach but not impossible. Nice experience in a region only known for the sea
