I still can't forget the beauty of moonland. In between various high peaks,there lies moonland. Bright yellow coloured mountain makes you believe that the nature is the supreme artist.

Unless you really find the art and the history behind the monastery interesting visiting Lamayuru might leaving you wanting more. We took a 3 hour drive from our resort in Leh, just to spend less than 20 min at this monastery.

Unique, out of this world geographical landscape. Was there at beginning of winter and after it snowed, the landscape was totally changed as well. Also situated in the town was the oldest monastery in Lakakh, Lamayuru Monastery that is worth a visit.

The people of this place are really very down to earth and the monestarty is amazing. Also the view from the village is amazing. It has lots of patches that are called as moonland and it looks like as if you are standing on moonland....More

Lamayuru is located about 120 kms from Leh and most of the stretch is over the beautiful Leh Kargil highway. Nothing much to do in Lamayuru itself apart from visiting a monastery and seeing an attraction called moonland which comes 2-3 kms before Lamayuru. Moonland...More

Lamayuru is a nice quiet place. You can spend a night here. The view of Lamayuru from the Lamayuru Monastery is quite beautiful. I did not find the moonland to be spectacular. It is interesting to see hills with a golden colour. and quite beautiful....More
