Unless you really find the art and the history behind the monastery interesting visiting Lamayuru might leaving you wanting more. We took a 3 hour drive from our resort in Leh, just to spend less than 20 min at this monastery.

Unique, out of this world geographical landscape. Was there at beginning of winter and after it snowed, the landscape was totally changed as well. Also situated in the town was the oldest monastery in Lakakh, Lamayuru Monastery that is worth a visit.

Lamayuru is a nice quiet place. You can spend a night here. The view of Lamayuru from the Lamayuru Monastery is quite beautiful. I did not find the moonland to be spectacular. It is interesting to see hills with a golden colour. and quite beautiful....More
