Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Also known as kaba(rats) temple, a historical temple and a research matter to see how this kaba get so closed to human being...Be careful to walk slowly while entering this temple, if somebody see white rat it is his/her luck. A must see temple.

The deshnoke temple is better know as the Karni Mata ka mandir. Internationally this place is famous as the Rat Temple. There are thousands of rats that run around the temple, since forever. They cause no harm and are not scary. Yet one must be careful not to step on any rat.
Our visit here was totally amazing.

The only rat temple in the entire world is in Deshnok, Bikaner. God is the creator of this universe and he has put everything on this planet known as earth.

This is perhaps the most revered Temple in Rajasthan where they essentially worship the Goddesses who are the real power in life.
Very Very Sacred.

This temple is located in Deshnoke, 30 kms from Bikener, Rajasthan. This is famous as Rat Temple. The rats are very sacred in this temple. There are many 1000s of rats here. These rats are considered as holy and not as pests. It is believed that there are around 20,000 rats here. They are seen everywhere. Neither the rats nor the devotees are scared of each other.

It is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Karni Mata at Deshnoke, 30km from Bikaner, in Rajasthan, IndiaThe most intriguing aspect of the temple is the 20,000-odd rats that call this temple home. These holy rats are called kabbas.Out of all of the thousands of rats in the temple, there are a few white rats, which are considered to be especially holy. They are believed to be the manifestations of Karni Mata herself and her four sons. Sighting them is a special blessing and visitors put in extensive efforts to bring them forth, offering prasad, a sweet holy food.

This was on my 'must visit' list of India after seeing it on Nat Geo channel. But when we got there, we were very concerned about the hygiene, which did not seem to bother the locals. This is especially so after reading about the spread of rat urine disease and rat related diseases. One has to be barefooted (entering a Hindu temple premises), though my wife wore her socks. The place was disappointingly (understandably) unkempt - the floor was damp with a lot of dead geckos and other small reptiles/ creatures. There was plenty of sweet food on the floor for the rats who are worshiped. There were not as many rats as I saw on Nat Geo channel, but we were told there are plenty of rats during certain festive periods. The crowds attention was to find a white rat as it meant good luck.
I guess one has to be mentally prepared to face such ambiance in a rat temple!
The train station is walking distance to the temple, but i wonder what would one do waiting for the next train.
