We started at 07:00AM from Pune. It took 4 Hrs. to reach Bhimashankar temple. Journey for the last 20 Kilo meters was really beautiful. Total area was like a heavenly place which reminds about lord Shiva. We went during the weekdays so it was now very crowded. We had a good Darshan. House keeping around temple was not so good.... 246 km from Mumbai (Powai), 2 ways to go, either using Mumbai-Pune expressway till Chakan or via Malshej Ghat. Regular bus services from Pune and Mumbai. Excellent place, 1 of the 12 jyotirlings in india. Once you reach Bhimashankar, you have to step down around 228 steps to reach temple. Since its atop a mountain, the view towards Konkan is... More

We went there from Shirdi. It was an awesome 4 hour trip. Hilly driving and amazing views. for visiting the temple one has to walk downstairs from top of hill. for old people railings are provided. if you are planning a shirdi tour this should be an inclusion. Awesome tasty maizes are available.

JYOTIRLINGA TEMPLE. If you are driving from Pune, then take the Manchar route. Avoid deviation at Rajgurunagar. Though it's the short route, the road condition is very bad. This temple is nestled in the hills. After parking your vehicle, you'll have to go down the steps. Around 250 steps you are supposed to be there. Have a nice Darshan and... More

Very adventurous journey by road and makes you feel on top of the world. Must visit and has a calming effect. Improvements suggested : 1. Parking is available for rs30 near temple....people should not park on road and cause traffic jam 2. Toilet facilities are unusable. 3. Queue management very poor... people jumping line and going directly by paying security... More
