Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very quiet and small village, with almost no tourist on Sunday in Septembre. Beautiful view of the lac Turano, I didn't spend much time in the village, not sure what are the other things to see, but the view on the lake is worth a detour

It is no coincidence that Castel di Tora is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. From its summit you can enjoy the suggestive images over the whole lake, but it is worth photographing Castel di Tora from the nearby town of Colle di Tora.

Peaceful and hospitable country. It is worth visiting for its characteristic houses, food and views of Lake Turano.

Charming village perched above Lake Turano. Charming streets, places to eat, suggestive view of the lake itself. It is definitely worth a visit.

Village overlooking the beautiful lake below, developed in height, includes various medieval structures of interest.

It is the most representative village of Lake Turano, occupying the promontory that rises almost in the center of the lake, on the eastern shore, next to the other promontory where the abandoned center of Monte Antuni was. Precisely its position, with the provincial bridge below that crosses the lake, makes it the most characteristic element: it can be admired well from the western end of the bridge, near the small church of San Rocco or from the small peninsula where the village of Colle stands of Tora. The exploration of its small historic center of medieval origin does not provide insights of particular interest, despite having maintained the urban fabric of the time: along its uphill cobbled streets you come across buildings of little architectural value (just a few sporadic portals worthy of attention ), and the church of San Giovanni Evangelista itself, in the central square (obviously closed) is nothing special externally, while the large building that stands in the upper part of the south-eastern corner of the village and which once must have been the the castle that gave its name to the town is privately owned and you can't even get that close; difficult to find and/or recognize the remains of the ancient city walls. However, some characteristic corners are not missing, such as stairways, underpasses, tiny openings, alleys embellished with flowers and plants, the triton fountain in the central square, in front of the church; but the most satisfying part are above all the panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding wooded hills (the best view of Mount Antuni is from here) which occasionally peek out from the spaces left between the buildings or from special panoramic points. Another positive element of the historic center is the substantial absence of cars, due to the urban fabric certainly not suitable for the transit and parking of cars. There are few commercial establishments in the historic part: apart from a few small restaurants, we only encountered a bar and a shop that sold a bit of everything.

I attended the Polentone Festival, but I was very disappointed, not only me but many complained. Endless queue for the ticket at the cash register, equally long queue to access the meal. Four stalls and nothing more!!! Those who sold porchetta had no bread available, grocery stores without bread, the few shops closed, people who traveled 200 km for the event disappointed, absent services did not provide us with information not even on toilets, many people with children had to provide meals outside the Borgo while leaving. The village is splendid and well cared for, but should not be visited on these occasions, the shuttle service is excellent.
It was an unpleasant experience. I don't know if I will return.
