You can't actually go in the villa. It's sits atop a hill overlooking the main piazza of Frascati. The true gem, for me, is the fountain behind the villa. The statues are HUGE. I posted a picture of the entire fountain if you look carefully, you see my grandma standing there. It gives you an idea of the size. You... More

We were somewhat disappointed. After a good walk up to the Villa, we found everything is closed to the Public other than walking around the front side of the Villa.

Despite another claim that this property isn't officially open to the public, it is -so please don't feel that you are trespassing if you go. The gardens and grounds are open, but you cannot enter the building. We checked with the tourist office just next to the parking lot in Frascati (directly below Villa Aldobrandini) who told us where to... More

We climbed the hill out of Frascati and arrived outside the Villa, but there were no entry signs everywhere, but we asked a local and he showed us a gate in. The villa looks like it is being renovated but the fountains and the viewpoint over Frascati was stunning. Lovely peaceful place and worth a look

Gorgeous villa with garden on the hill overlooking Rome area. Been there by car on the 1st of May and it was quite hard to find parking.

Put on your strolling shoes and enjoy a pastoral, quiet, lovely (and free!) walk out to the Villa, around the buildings, fountains, and gardens! What a restorative treat. We especially enjoyed walking the shaded drive down to the gate (which we discovered was locked), enjoying the views, then walking back up again, and back into town. Enjoy!

It is easy to overlook this amazing property. It can be viewed from the main square in Frascati, and sits proudly on the hillside overlooking the town and countryside beyond. There is a lovely tree line drive up to the villa through pretty gates, however, proceed up the hill, need a car unless extra fit, to the main entrance. It... More

I fancied an excursion out of Rome during my holiday, to escape the heat and crowds, and Frascati didn't disappoint. This town is easily reached via the suburban train FR4F from Termini station. You can't miss the villa at the top of the hill, above Piazza Marconi. It's quite a climb on foot to reach it but worth the effort.... More

Been to Frascati with my family. Villa Aldobrandini is a beautiful architect at hill top. It was closed for tourists.

Like other reviewers I only saw this from the outside, and there was definitely an air of faded elegance. The reason for the review is I thought I would be able to walk up to it, however the road is narrow and dangerous with traffic and after a while the signs disappear along with the pavement. When I came across... More
