Recommend you wear walking boots as the path is shingle, rock and mud. We decided against the Flam Railway and decided to do our own thing. We were delighted with the walk to the waterfall. Once you turn off the road it becomes a track...More

This is a lovely walk from the village in Flåm to the waterfall. The last 500 metres is all up hill and a lot of steps but when you get to the top the waterfall is amazing and the view is spectacular. You could easily...More

I visited this as part of a multi-night stay in Flam - one afternoon when the weather looked good so this was the best outdoor place to go. Best way to start - cross the bridge from the main Flam area and start walking southwards...More

This is a nice hike to a waterfall. It is not easy but doable. Lots of stairs and areas with roots. Hiking sticks help especially going down

A beautiful spot with stunning views! Takes about 20 minutes to walk to the trail head from the center of town and about another 20 minutes up to the viewpoint (I believe the trail keeps going after that, but many people turn around here). Pretty...More

The waterfall is OK, the view down to the fjord is better. There were a lot of people on the walk, which is signposted 0.5km from the road. It is a reasonable pull uphill with stone steps which then gives way to stones, tree roots...More

You can hike from Flam railway station to Brekkefossen waterfall and back in about 1.5-2 hours. It first starts on the valley floor and then goes steep up to the waterfall. Hiking boots recommended. The view from the top is spectacular. You stand next to...More

Get the legs powered up for a bit of steep climb, partly big slate steps partly trail. Beautiful views!!

So glad we took the opportunity to see the waterfall close up. It's a pleasant walk from Flam railway station at first, but then it's quite a steep climb through the trees up a dusty and rocky (and possibly muddy) path. Walking boots would be...More

Brekkefossen is easy to get toto... The head of the trail is less than 30 minutes from the train and the walk is very scenic. You walk along a river, past cows, and see grass roof tops. However the hoke to the top is a bit... More

Hi! I also started at around 7.45 and it was May. Not so clear for me, before 9 or so, but in July I think you might be lucky!
