    Casa Anadia Olive Oil Tour
We met Dylan at the Casa Anadia estate for the full olive experience. The tour delved into the many varieties of olives with a great deal of detail in the process of production and the old vs modern techniques used in oil extraction. We started with a traditional picking method of picking olives with a long stick almost like knights used in jousting. It was quite fun and we where able to harvest a large sack during our tutorial. The tour included a walk on the estate that is linked back to the origins of Portugal. The whole tour was excellent and had a nice mix of history coupled with a crash course on olive oil production. Dylan was a gracious host and very passionate throughout the tour. We ended with a tasting of the various olive oils produced on site with some cheese charcuterie and breads. The toast with oil, pollen and honey was a first and better than I would have imagined. All in all we were there for a few hours and would highly recommend this for an overall cultural tour of Portugal or for anyone interested in experimenting with different olive oils. Dont forget to grab some things from their shop on your way out! They produce some great oils! Thank you again Dylan for your hospitality! I will definitely be back.
    Thank you for your visit!

Fantastic tour worth the time and money. I would strongly recommend it to anyone!
Wonderful tour with Pedro. Very informative! We learned so much, not just about how they grow and process olives but also the way of life on the farm. So much history, and the museum and estate are stunning! Then we learned how to taste olive oil(it was our first time), really interesting process … I never realized that an olive oil could be so nuanced. But I have to say that what really completed the tour was the passion, wisdom, friendliness, and welcome we were shown by Pedro and Anna. Absolutely fantastic, would strongly recommend.

You realy have to go there!!!!! It’s so great!!
What a wonderful visit to Casa Anadia!! Pedro told so much about the Olive factory and history surrounding it. We walked around the beautiful estate and gardens. Pedro took us completely into the story of then and now around the olive factory. Very interesting and beautiful to see. In the small museum that accompanies it, you can see the entire process from picking to making. The tasting was also really cool! Then you can buy the oil. Highly recommended and a big compliment to Pedro, what a nice and pleasant guide.

    Enriching tour , great host
Great morning visiting the estate and its olive groves, finishing with a tasty olive oil tasting. Pedro was a fantastic host, very knowledgeable and attentive. The farm and mills was well kept and pleasant to visit, with the castle adding to the charm. The olive oil tasting was charming, blending the classy and rustic. We learned how to appreciate different varieties of oil, paired with regional bread, cold meats and some great wine from the same company.

Inspiring olive oil tasting with Pedro
Thank you very much for the olive oil tasting experience! I can only recommend the tour. Our guide Pedro Cardoso was very competent and no question remained unanswered, so we learned a lot about olive oil. He also gave cultural insights and inspired us to change our eating habits. All the best for the project, I will be back! :-)

    Amazing experience
This was an amazing experience! Pedro gave us a tour of the property during which we were able to learn so many facts about olive oil making process. It was followed by a great tasting experience full of talks, laughter, and delicious products. We chose an option that included wine from a winery that belongs to the same family, and were so happy we did. We really liked all the wines we tried. I would definitely HIGHLY recommend everyone to take a detour and spend time at Casa Anadia. This was one of the highlights of our time in Portugal.

Wonderful Tour and Tasting at the Olive Orchard
My husband and I had an incredible private tour of the grounds and museum with Pedro, who was knowledgeable about the company and its history. An olive oil and wine tasting followed the tour. It included a delicious couvert allowing us to sample more olive oil and olives grown on the property. We could not have asked for a better experience.

    What a fantastic tour!!
We did different tours while in Portugal but this one was the best by far! Pedro was a superbe guide. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable in olive oils but also gave us history on olive farming, the different family crests and religions but also some botanical information on some of the different trees on the beautiful property. At the end of the tour, we had a wonderful tasting of the olive oils, some cheese, bread and cold-cuts. It was truly fantastic! Don’t be fooled by the ordinary looking entrance, this tour is worth every penny. If you are looking for something different than the typical wine tastings tours in the area, you’re in for a treat. We’ll never look at olive oils the same again. Thank you Pedro!

Olive tourism was one of the objectives to be achieved during this vacation. I was pleasantly surprised by choosing Casa Anadia, where we were able to learn about the olive oil production process within the entire historical context of the family that has owned the Quinta for centuries. The traditional Lagar was the highlight of the visit which, with its old machinery, installations and processes, can offer us a journey back in time. Currently the extraction of the liquid is outsourced, but it is stored and bottled on the Quinta itself. We ended the visit with a tasting of olive oil, wine, and purchasing products from the store. All the knowledge and information was passed on to us by Dylan, who welcomed us and led us very well through this experience. Throughout the history of the Quinta there have been productions of other products and currently, in addition to olive oil, wine, honey and pollen are also produced by the family. Information about beekeeping is not part of the itinerary, but I tried the honey and pollen and loved it! Includes one pot of each when purchasing olive oil! :)

We’ve been traveling Portugal for two weeks and our visit to Casa Anadia today is one of our favorite experiences. We showed up with no booking and Dylan was so kind to fit us in for a tour & tasting. He took his time with us, sharing a wealth of information on their total production process of the olive to oil - both the traditional way & how it’s done today. The tasting was a real eye opener as Dylan showed how us how to experience each of the distinctive oils we tried. We highly recommend adding a visit to Casa Anadia to expand your visit to Portugal - just be sure to book first. Thanks Dylan👍

Many of our group have olive trees, and have newcomers’ understanding, but the tour was surprisingly informative. If you’re a complete newbie to the making of olive oil, it would be even better. (Still 10/10 from all of us.) Dylan was an excellent tour guide, and answered all of our questions, although we would have stayed longer than 2 and a half hours as it was so interesting, but we had a lunch reservation nearby. The tour is great value for money (€12.50 as at November 2022), taking you all around the estate including the exterior of the castle (owners were in residence) and the lovely gardens. We finished off with an olive oil tasting and have all placed orders. A really worthwhile visit and highly recommended!

Hello to all the people who read this, tell you that the visit to this mill was very didactic and enjoyable, hard 2h. between visit and tasting oils that passed me very quickly and where you learn things about the oil really if interesting, has a museum that preserves the machinery of how this liquid gold was made years ago, as well as showing you outside the castle where the owners of this wonder reside and many other anecdotes that if you go you will have the opportunity to hear.
Make a very special mention of our guide Pedro Carlos, who with his wisdom, kindness and language management makes the visit even more pleasant!!
Ohh and finally tell you that they have a small shop to buy their oils and wines that also work!!!

We only had limited time so Dylan came specially to give us the tour when we were available. His knowledge is exceptional, the history of the family and the information about the manufacturing process of the past was very interesting. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in understanding how olive oil is produced and how to identify a quality product.

We had a very interesting and fun afternoon together with our friendly and enthusiastic guide. We had a tour of the farm, the old olive press (the museum), the chapel and the beautiful park around the castle. At the fine museum we were able to see the machines and a film showed how they worked. The guide was good at telling with enthusiasm and took a good time, so we got a lot of interesting to know about plants and about the history of the place. We were allowed to pick and eat as many oranges as we wanted and we greeted the two donkeys Bean and Pea. Finally we tasted the olive oil, which was good!

The Anadia House surprises from start to finish! The vast olive tree and another huge variety of vegetable species houses a castle and its wonderful garden, a chapel, a museum and a lot of Portuguese history told by Pedro that leads us to imagine the Lagar working at full value and to accompany the weddings of the nobles through the family brasses that permeate the Casa Anadia. As if not enough to share the magic of that place we are still incredibly surprised with the taste of the 3 olives and 1 wine, all produced by the house. Drinking olive oil is unusual for Brazilians and, believe me, this is a unique experience! A real explosion of flavors! The Casa Anadia enters my My Saves in Portugal that I want to visit many more times!

What a beautiful place and a fantastic tour! Thank you Dylan for the thoughtful and patient tour of the olive groves, old press and castle grounds. Absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend this tour. Dylan is very knowledgeable about the olive oil process and the history of the property. He is not only the tour guide but also the head of quality control for the olive oil “campaign”. The olive oil tasting is very nice and informative. We also bought a bottle of their branded Reserva 2014 wine. Is it my imagination or does it have a hint of earthy olive? Thank you so much Dylan. We wish you much success!
