After several postponements due to COVID, we eventually arrived in northern Portugal. We had a very enjoyable off road trip with Dream Overland, and visited some beautiful remote areas that we hadn’t known about before. Jose is not only a great guide, but great company too He is full of knowledgable info about the local area, culture, & wildlife, and he always chose our evening campsites carefully We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, and we would not hesitate to recommend him to others wanting a memorable off road experience

What a fabulous job Jose did for our group from Wild Dragon Adventure Club. His brief was to create a trip for two weeks in Northern Portugal. Jose went over and above our wildest expectations creating a Road Book for the group outlining each day's route, where to camp and recommended restaurants and hotels etc. The detail was amazing and made for an outstanding and memorable self-supporting overland trip for our group. We really got to see the real Portugal and immersed ourselves in the culture of the areas we visited. Jose was also on hand by phone if we had any queries or issues, like stumbling across a wildfire! We all enjoyed it so much we're booking a similar trip with him next year. We would fully recommend Dream Overland. Exceptional value in every sense.

We have been visiting Portugal with José Almeida for the best part of a decade, up to twice a year.
Upon our first trip, he instantly made us fall in love with the country and its fantastic people.
His cultural knowledge of the country is spectacular and his English faultless. He seems to know almost everyone in his country - or if he doesn't, he makes a friend in seconds!
His recommendations for visits, restaurants, hikes, photo opportunities and off-road trails have been priceless.
He'd better watch out when we retire as we won't be leaving him for a second.
Anyhow, in a nutshell, it's two very enthusiast thumbs up from us all. See you soon, Sir.

From start to finish Jose worked hard to ensure that our holiday didn't disappoint. This was a tailor made trip, we had in depth conversations regarding our interests and Jose made sure that all these aspects were included in our tour. He promised to be there for us throughout our visit and was true to his word-we had car problems and he organised a tow truck to take us to the electro mechanic, who solved the problem, all this within a couple of hours! He recommended campsites, hotels, restaurants etc., places to visit, even some local wines. We really can't praise Jose and Dream Overland enough

This was our second tour with Dream Overland. This time to southern Portugal with the tour aptly called ‘A Taste of Africa’. Not only did we enjoy magnificent scenery and enjoyable off road driving we also had a carefully tailored historical journey through when the Moors inhabited the country and what they brought to its culture.
As before the owner of this business made this a very special event with his immaculate planning, knowledge and faultless guiding. I cannot recommend this company to highly - I am expecting to have many more adventures with them in the future.

This was an amazingly well organised trip. José's knowledge of the routes, history and culture spanning the whole country was excellent and he imparted this knowledge exceedingly well. I saw so many contrasting sides of a country I love and I personally took away long lasting memories and a thirst to undertake this journey to see more again next year. I can not recommend this company enough. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you again next year.

This was a trip of many great experiences never to be forgotten, under the expert guidance of Jose.
Beautiful scenery, campsites, off road tracks, food, culture, history, wild swimming to name but a few.
The Algarve and Alentego off the usual tourist route.

It was our third trip with Dreamoverland and every time José manages to surprise us with spectacular views, beautiful, sometimes challenging tracks. But he also gives us a taste of the culture of Portugal, the delicious wines and the extraordinarily tasty food.

With Jose’s help our three 4x4’s spent 10 days following the Road book Jose provided for northern Portugal. There was a lot of off road tracks which the RB explained very well. It included hotels, camp sites and restaurants, all of good quality. We had a break down and Jose found a garage for us who managed to fix the problem, he also provided translations for us. All in all a very good trip and we will use Jose again when we go back. Ten out of ten Jose, we’ll done.

Dream Overland (Jose Ameida) took us on a great off road trip in North Portugal. He is a fantastic guide with lots of knowledge about the area, the history, the culture, the nature and the best places to go. We have been at places we would never have found by ourselves and had a super off road holiday!
