Overview
More
The Dwejra Tower was built in 1652 and is one of the Lascaris Towers. Originally, the intention behind its construction was for it to act as a watchtower and guard the surrounding areas from oncoming enemies, most especially pirate landings. In 1999, renovation was completed by Din l-Art Helwa and it is now open for the public.

This one is good for a hike in lieu of the recently crumbled Azure Window (RIP) which are now just the Azure pillars. It's still a good view and a good way to dry off after a dip in the Blue Hole and/or Inland Sea.

If possible (and even better if you are staying on Gozo), pack a little picnic and go down to Dwejra for sunset. The crowds have gone and the setting is magical.

Although the tower is not very special, it is still nice to go and have a look here. And even if it is not for the tower itself, then certainly for the beautiful surroundings. where the famous film shots for 'Game of thrones' are recorded....More

Visited this part of the island of Gozo just as the sun was setting on our last day. The tower was closed but still looked magnificent in the glow of the setting sun. Good to see this part of Gozonian history so well looked after

Dating back to 1652 but looking like it was built only a few years ago the Dwejra Tower stands to protect the Island from foreign enemies as well as pirates. It does not look much but considering it has been standing for nearly 400 years,...More

This is a must see for the view. Avery nice restaurant near by also. It is a bit of a walk from the car park.

Arrived at Dwejra at 10.30 and were the first to visit the tower. Suggested donation of €2 was understandable and worth it. The person in charge of the tower at the time was very nice and helpful and told us about the works Dinl-Art Helwa...More

While passing the tower, we saw campsite. A good place to camp and stay for morning and evening scenery.

Amazing step back in history with a good view of the sea and what was the Azure window! Well kept considering how old it is.
