Im a bit of an amature gardener with a passion for the outdoors my wife is not but we both teally enjoyed the whole experience. Brian is so friendly and down to earth with a real infectious passion for his homeland and surrounding plants myths and legends of the area. Very educational and informative in a relaxed friendly environment on the beautiful slieve Gullion countryside. We picked and ate loads of different plants that are literally growing all around us. Everywhere! So delicious and highly nutritious. All with their own medicinal and culinary purpose's. We got a few homemade foraged nibbles that were absolutely a delight for the taste buds and the homemade champagne and wine just topped it all off. I cant wait to go back again through the different seasons. Especially in spring. Our ancestors knew and used all these plants years ago but somehow most of that knowledge has passed most of us by. Thank god for people like brian who can share their knowledge with others and help the rest of us to reconnect with mother earth as god intended us to do. Not ASDA!! Even if your not into it. Just try it. I guarantee you wont be disappointed!

I thoroughly enjoyed this foraging experience. Brian was so knowledgeable on all the plants we encountered that day, everything from the so called ‘weeds’, to the wildflowers, shrubs, trees & hedgerows. He was even able to explain the medicinal properties & advise whether they were edible or poisonous. The group even got to sample a few, as well as some that had been home brewed into delicious delicacies.
I took copious notes, so I can better identify what’s in my own garden.
Thanks Brian & Lorraine for the warm welcome & hospitality. I look forward to booking on to one of your future workshops or seasonal tours.

We had a very enjoyable time with Brain and Lorraine on the Introduction to Foraging workshop. It started with copious amounts of locally foraged herbal teas. Brain is very knowledgeable about foraging as well as the history and geology of the area. The walk on the slopes of Slieve Gullion was at a gentle pace as Brian shared his knowledge in a humorous, engaging way. We also had the opportunity to sample edible herbs.
We both recommend you go along to one of Brian’s workshops and experience this for yourself. We were also treated along the way by Brain and Lorraine to tasty foraged goodies, even a bubbly surprise!
It’s a fascinating topic, part of our heritage. Thank you.

We had a brilliant time with Brian and Lorraine today; it is a really enjoyable and informative experience in an incredibly beautiful part of the country. We loved that Brian is so knowledgeable and passionate about local history as well, and really appreciated all the foraged snacks and drinks that Lorraine and Brian prepared for us. We are hoping to come along again soon, but I will definitely have to take notes next time as there was so much to see today. Thank you for a very relaxing and interesting day out!

I absolutely loved this foraging excursion. Brian and Lorraine made it feel like a family outing, they were so friendly and welcoming. Brian clearly has a deep understanding of the local flora but also of the local history and folklore, which made this an even more special event. What I enjoyed most was that it was everyday plants that we learned about, but now they feel like exotic delicacies. The little treats we had along the way were delicious. Overall I couldn't recommend this highly enough to anyone who wants a relaxing morning in a beautiful part of County Armagh, with an engaging and expert host.

Such an interesting and scenic hands-on experience which provided so much information about both the uses and qualities of plants which we take for granted everyday and the history of beautiful Newry.
Can’t wait to return for further tours!
Most importantly, thank you Brian and Lorraine for lots of lovely snacks! The dandelion jelly was my favourite 😊

I thoroughly enjoyed the foraging tour through Castlewellan Estate with Brian. This was my first introduction to foraging, and I loved it. Brian is a lovely fella who makes everyone feel welcome. He is also an extremely knowledgeable guide who delivers the tour with great passion. I loved that he also brought a lot of fun into the experience. Thank you so much Brian!
