- Karina MDarwin, Australia24 contributionsPerfect for an event. We had a work event at the winery and it was fantastic. They were setting up for a festival on the weekend and it was great to see it all happening. We had drinks downstairs and dinner upstairs. The food was gorgeous, the staff were attentive and a fantastic time was had by all.Visited October 2023Travelled on businessWritten 15 October 2023
- Daniel BLeeds, United Kingdom100 contributionsTop cuisineThis is not a cheap restaurant, but, we thought it was superior and much cheaper than some Michelin restaurants that we have been to previously. The staff were all very well trained, the seating was lovely, the food fabulous. I had snapper ceviche followed by lamb with Jerusalem artichoke, Zor had thinly sliced kangaroo fillet followed by snapper. Just superb. A glass each of great local wines. Well worth a visit if you fancy a treat.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 December 2023
- dazman221054 contributionsDelicious! We really enjoyed our lunch at this fantastic winery restaurant. It's difficult to choose which dish you want as everything from the menu sounds amazing. The food was truly delicious and each of us were very happy with our choices, some were even saying it's the best they've ever had. The service was excellent, Renny who looked after our table was really lovely and did a wonderful job in making sure we were looked after. I highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 10 August 2024

We visited Sandalford for lunch on a weekday (reviewed under the restaurant but I gave it a five) and were told that, as restaurant patrons, we could visit the adjoining tasting area for free tastings. Luckily it was fairly quiet at the time so we got to try a number of wines.
The staff who were serving really knew the wine and were very professional and helpful.
As well as having tastings, there are wines for sale. We bought a dozen which we picked up after we'd finished our meal. Plus there are wine/food related bits and pieces for sale. All nicely done.
The estate as a whole is very nicely done. Lots of vines, lawned areas and swings for the kids. The restaurant, mentioned earlier, is excellent.
Customer service is obviously key at Sandalford. The staff arranging wine tasting were excellent. Our waitperson (hate that word) in the restaurant, Tash, was excellent. Very friendly, helpful and efficient. Well done.
While we were in the restaurant, we saw some young kids playing in one of the garden sprinklers. They were having great fun but, at one stage, they managed to unhook the hose from the sprinkler. One of the boys tried to fix it but with little success. Their parents, who had seen this happen, didn't get involved until one of the gardeners came and sorted out the problem. He was very good with the kids and set them up in another area so they could continue their play. The mother belatedly spoke to the kids about what they had done . Well done to the gardening staff for the way they handled the situation.

Second stop on our day of wine tasting in Swan Valley. This was an absolute highlight. We were brilliantly looked after by Kris at the cellar door. Fair play to her on how she juggled a lot of people while still giving everyone great insight and attention. We made our way through 10 wines (followed by another 2 after lunch!). The Vedelho here was the best Verdelho of the day and the premium Prendiville wines were a highlight.
We also stopped here for a superb lunch with the Seafood Filo Pastry being the highlight. Loved the Sandalera Dessert wine after lunch.

We enjoyed the wine tasting at Sandalford, and had good conversations with the staff - Gracelia, Keiko, and Daniel. They are friendly and patient, and let us take our time to taste various kinds of wine. We went there a second time in a few days to buy more wine.

The winery itself is absolutely stunning & beautifully set out with its lovely gardens and grounds surrounding the wine tasting room. Upon entry it is we’ll set out and plenty of room to love around if in a group. The lady who presented the wine to us was a warm and welcoming lady who didn’t rush us. We ended up purchasing several bottles due to her wonderful nature. The gift shop is reasonably priced and has some very unique gifts.
Thank you for the lovely experience

Parking and getting out afterwards a total nightmare, chaos, no traffic management, 1.5 hours to get out. I paid $510 to sit on a cheap uncomfortable plastic chair cabled tied to others. Event staff extremely rude and disrespectful. I was shown to the wrong entrance, my ticket scanned in and then very rudely told to get out when I started walking to seats as that was VIPs. Had to get back in long queue at another gate; told I can’t go in as my ticket was already scanned in, interrogated where I got the ticket; bag searched (no problem with that), forced to throw away a little plastic bag with nuts and jelly beans as is was not in standard packing!! I was in row 15 from front (expensive and supposedly good), had very limited view of stage as I landed behind a huge man. It was windy and cold. Will never go there again!! Paying that much to sit on an extremely uncomfortable plastic chair for 4.5 hours in the wind and cold with limited views is not for me!

We came here for wine tastings a couple times as we were staying next door at The Colony @ Mandoon Estate.
We loved this place as it really caters to the old-world high-end vibe. The staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining the wines we were tasting and made excellent recommendations.
The grounds of this vineyard are beautiful and they have a nice playground to keep the kids busy for at least a little bit.
The restaurant is always packed during peak meal periods, which is always a good sign. We ordered a mess of appetizers so we could take in as much of the menu as possible, everything was delish and we could have easily ordered more and just over eaten.
They do have free wi-fi, which as a parent is a game changer when you're from out of country and wineries are not really a kid friendly activity.
If you're doing wines in Swan Valley, a tasting and a meal here are a must

Went to a concert recently and it was as if the Sandalford got there money and ran. Traffic management was woeful and dangerous. When in the venue there was no signposting to say where the paid seats were so people were traipsing through peoples picnic areas particularly when later in the evening. Security wasn’t around for the drunks. The screens were set too low so you couldn’t see anything. Not enough food trucks so people waited nearly an hour for food. The sound was crisp the only saving grace. The wine was terribly over priced. Sandalford really need to look after the lower ticket holders better.

The food was delicious, as was the wine. Lunch for four adults was a little pricey at about $200. Some families were relaxing on the grass after the meal. On the way back, we walked slowly through the vineyards from the restaurant to the gate, which took about 15 minutes.

We went on a Swan Riber wine tour to Sandalford Estate in February 2020! A delightful trip from Pert City, up the river with commentary from the captain the entire way. We had 4 different wine tastings on the way up with delicious cheese tasting to accompany them. Tea, coffee and muffins were also available. On arrival, we did the tour - very interesting - and then went to the dining room where we had another 6 wines to sample plus a wonderful meal accompanied by a large glass of your favourite wine of the tastings. There were more samples after lunch in the shop if you wished including sherry, port etc. On the way home, there was coffee, tea and wonderful sweets along with, what seemed to me, as much wine or beer as you could consume! A fabulous day out.....as long as you weren’t driving afterwards!

Hi do i have to buy ticket to visit the vineyard and winery ? What is the best time to be there please ?
How much is the cost ? We have 5 adults and 2 kids
Written 11 September 2018
Hi Shyenfoong, you do not have to buy tickets to enter the vineyard or winery, they are 'public access' during opening hours.
Best time is probably Spring or Summer, from about 11am through to 3pm on fine weather days.
It is beautiful so you will not be disappointed.

Can you walk from Sandalford Winery to the accommodation at Mandoon Estate? It doesn't look like the roads join up but I wondered if there is a path through. Thanks.
Written 12 June 2018
The two wineries share the same boat dock on the Swan River and are right next to each other. No problem walking between them.

Hi, we are travelling with a toddler and infant. Is there a toddler chair and diaper changing room? Also, what is the price range for lunch? thanks!
Written 23 October 2017
Entrees around $24 average, mains in the $40 range. Not sure about toddler chairs but they should have them. Probably also have diaper change areas.
