I’m not sure what we were expecting, but it wasn’t as imagined. The beach is relatively small and whilst not busy when we arrived, it only took 20 mins for several boat parties to arrive and it felt over crowded and noisy. There are a few restaurants run by locals if staying long enough to eat… would strongly not recommend the “toilet”. Pretty enough on the eye but you have to be at a certain angle to see the pink, otherwise it’s just another beach full of tourists.

It’s an ok reef, not a lot of coral but there is a few different fish species to look at. But I’m not happy with each of the 100 boats that go there dropping their anchors and damaging the coral. If this continues they will not have a reef there much longer.

It really does have pink sand. And wonderful snorkeling in clear warm turquoise waters. We arranged with Komodo Eco Tours to take us to the beach after a short trek to see the Komodo dragons.

We went to pink beach as part of a tour and it was a lovely visit. One thing to note is that the photos make the sand look a lot more pink than it actually is! However, it’s a great place to visit and chill out for a short while. Our tour guide gave us snorkels and we were able to enjoy the clear waters.
There are a few shops and stalls there in case you wanted to buy any food, so its not totally deserted. There aren’t many pink sand beaches in the world, so we are happy to have stopped here as part of the tour and had time to swim in the clear waters.

Stunning clear, warm waters and pretty pale pink sand. We visited as part of a tour organised by our resort AYANA Komodo and we were not disappointed. The water changed colour in different depths and looked so gorgeous you would swear it was photoshopped! We snorkelled and saw many beautiful colour fish and coral. There were quite a few boat loads or tourists coming and going but it didn’t impact our enjoyment of this special beach. A much visit if on Flores Island.

The pink corals give this beach its unique colour. Very pretty. The water is crystal clear and swimming is a pleasure here. There are a few stalls there too. Go early in the day before the crowds arrive.

The beach didn’t feel any different from the normal beach. If you look at the sand on the shore in the water carefully you will see red shiny particles which are said to be of the crushed red corals.
The sand is not as pink as shown in the pictures online. If you take a picture from far off a little hue of pink is seen in contrast to the blue water.
We did snorkeling but nothing much to see. All the corals looked dead and colorless.

Yes, the beach is pink when you see it from up close.
I went to Pink Beach two years ago, before the tourism boost in Labuan Bajo. It was one of the most wonderful snorkelling places I've been to: crystal clear waters, very healthy red soft and hard corals, fishes from small to large, squids, etc. At that time I've spotted some snorkellers standing on the corals and told them off.
This time, I jumped off my boat and visibility was extremely poor (the worst I've seen) - not sure due to what, but one factor is the frequent boat visits affecting the current. I snorkelled for 5 minutes before deciding to go back to the boat - there were more dead corals than healthy, very few fishes, and I felt like crying as I saw the devastating effect of humans on nature. The beach was overcrowded, and the locals say it's less pink as more people secretly take some of the sand home.

The beach is disgusting, all covered in plastics and other trash. Snorkelling is one of the worst I’ve EVER done. All the corals are dead, you can even see it on the pictures people post here - they just don’t realise they’re photographing dead corals. When you’ve dived in Komodo NP and see this, you almost start crying. Tourists, boats (and global warming?) destroyed this place.

The wet sand was pink, but the dry sand was white, and the pink of the wet sand wasn't strongly colored enough to show up in a photo. I was there due to a cruise ship visit so the beach was very crowded.
There was decent coral and small fish for snorkelers, but a very strong current made swimming back to the boats treacherous and beach ends in many sharp rocks which can easily cause injury if you are not a strong swimmer. There were several people who got caught in the currents during the hour or so we were at the beach.
If you're already going to Komodo to see the dragons, the beach is another thing to do. But there's no reason to come here just for the beach.

Hi Levu88,
How Pink Beach snorkeling is compared to snorkeling at "đảo Phú Quốc" in South Vietnam.
(in terms of "live AND colourful corals" besides number of fish species etc...").
Thanks,
Binh V.

Have not been to Phu Quoc so cajt answer that. I thought Pink Beach was ok, lots of little fish and lots of live corals. But i have been spoilt, been to places like Coron with HUGE grouper staring at you out of an WWII shipwreck, giant clams everwhere or schools of barracuda swimming around, or at Bunaken with stunning wall corals and turtles everywhere. Pink Beach is ok, but no fish biggr than 1 foot and basic corals.

Hi there,
Thinking about to visit Lebuhan Bajo only to visit the Pink beach. I will be traveling with a near 5 year old.
I don't want to see Komodo dragons nor hike on top on Padar island. Too hard or too scary with a 4 yo.
But just like to chill out on the Pink beach as much as we like to but there seems to be no tours to only go there.
Of course I can hire a private speed boat but can't spend $1300 for just two of us!
Has anyone been only to Pink beach as a tour without going any other places in the Komodo National Park?
TIA

Hi,
I booked mine via Flores Pristine Tour. Serious not too big agency I've found through TripAdvisor
I would totally recommend them for a one day cruise
For the price, I don't remember well but I thing it was around 1.400.000IDR/person
