Highly recommend this beach for numerous reasons. There are ample parking spaces, concession stands, restrooms and lifeguards. The beach area is clean with soft sand. When we visited the waves were getting high and the water was a bit rough.

Beautiful beach with perfect, soft sand and small waves. There are life guards, plenty of parking, bathrooms and picnic tables with amazing views. Go early as is started to fill up by mid-morning.

Great beach and even better snorkeling but stay away from the nearby puako general store nearby. Awful experience there

While on vacation in Kona, we went exploring up the coast. This is a great beach to spend the day, or several. Clean and beautiful. Enjoy!

One of the best beaches on the big island. Beautiful, clean, and great for a day lazing on the beach. Great snorkelling as well.

One of the few sand beaches on the northwestern coast of Hawaii. Several covered picnic structures with BBQ pits. Limited parking. Excellent beach for swimming & snorkeling. Safe for young kids

Hi there! We usually went in the later morning for a few hours. But truthfully, we didn't see any turtles and only some fish near a rock. We were told about a snorkelling place (as we were leaving of course lol), that was... More

Yes, you can! All beaches are public & you can access them after hours, you can even swim, if you want, but it will be at your own risk: it will be dark during winter hours and no guards on duty. You can park your car at... More
