Beautiful beach

Beach is beautiful. Get here early and bring an umbrella for max beach time. The water can be a little rough for kids to venture out but close to the beach is fine.

Great sand, deep water, we swam with a huge turtle. The surf was a bit rough the day we swam, the waves were full of sand, but it was so much fun.

Excellent sand, clean facilities. It's worth the entrance fee. The sea is very clear and and the waves were not so big. It was safe to swim for our children aged 4 and 7. It was busy, but not overly crowded on a Saturday

Nice beach has plenty of parking, has bathrooms, picnic area, shade area. Short walk to each from where you need to park.

A crowded beach for good reason. $5 to park. Note: state park lodging available in open-air cabins across the road for about $50/night.

We enjoyed an afternoon on this beach. Nice fine white sand. Unfortunately, we could not swim because of the box jellyfish. We had to pay $5 for parking, but it ws woth it. We could use the same ticket at Beach 69. There are nice shades grassy areas with covered picnic tables and a good concession. The Hapuna Beach Prince... More

Fthe nextantastic beach!! Bring snorkeling gear--we saw 6 turtles the frist day, 2 the next. Only problem is it is about 60 minutes from Kona. Facilities there are very good. Parking only 5$, but you can park just outside the gate and save money.

This is a great white sand beach. There is a lifeguard and a covered picnic area. You park up above and then walk down to the beach area, but it's not a terribly long walk. If you walk to the far north end of the beach there is a little cove around the corner that is almost empty, and it's... More

We went back to the Big Island for 10 days the 1st week of April and we headed back to Hapuna Beach. It's still as great as I remember, except there's now a $5 parking fee. Oh Well, This beach is definitely worth it. There's even a good snack bar just above the beach

Our entire family voted this the best beach experience on Big Island. We had privileges at Hapuna Beach Hotel, so we had access to beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, gear, and even lunch food! The boys loved swimming with turtles, bodyboarding, and snorkeling. We found this beach more relaxing than nearby Kauna Oa at the Mauna Kea Resort. Here you could... More
