White sand beach forming large crescent shape. Some vegetation on peripheral of beach but not a lot of shade. So pack your sunscreen. Great place for fun in the surf. Lifeguards on duty during normal hours. There is a fee for parking for non residents,...More

Very easy to find a picnic spot as the beach is large enough for many families! Some parts are rocky and waves were strong when we were there so be very careful not to swim too near the rocks to avoid being smashed into the...More

This is one of the finest beaches on the Big Island. Usually, there are waves perfect for riding with a boogie board. If you like to walk on the beach, this is your spot. Outside shower and renovated restrooms.

We arrive around 8.30am and could pick where we wanted to put our towel. From around 10am on it gets very crowded. The beach is perfect for little ones who want to dig a hole or build a sand castle and the waves are great...More

Yes the bare essentials are there and assuming you have a rental car there are several stores in town where you can get other things you might want.
