Beautiful white sand beach with smaller waves, great for younger children and older people. Can be a little windy but that helps keep you cool when you are not in the water. Nice picnic tables. 5 dollars to park within the park but it makes...More

My wife and I took a moped rental to this beach and we were not disappointed. The beach and fine white sand are a big contrast to the normal Kona landscape, so it's a fun little gem to visit and spend some time in the...More

Buy some boogie boards at WalMart or Costco for $10 a piece your first day. Then enjoy days of boogie boarding at Hapuna with your family. Just pass them on since they won't fit easily on the plane back. Well worth the money you'll save...More

We went here 4 days of our 11 day trip. Get there early if you want to find some shade and a parking spot. Waves are good, get bigger in the afternoon. It is $5 per day but it is sandy and nice. There’s food...More

Hapuna Beach is a lovely, sandy beach on the Kohala Coast. Amenities are great but it’s really crowded and there’s little shade.

This beach is as the title depicts, the BEST. The parking lot can be a bit full (they are building an additional one) and parking is on top of hill. It's only $5 to park. We loved this beach so much we went there 3...More

Not at all - we had very little waves in March. It might depend on what time of year you go?

Yes the bare essentials are there and assuming you have a rental car there are several stores in town where you can get other things you might want.
