We have been there three times in three consecutive years and the place was open once (!!!) And that one time only the upper floor in the small building behind was accessible, displaying photos of batik art; there were also some modern sculptures of Malay Kerises in the court yard, which was a nice touch. The state muzium located beside main road of Pekan Town. Easy to access & very informative. It's a good place to know Pahang history & culture

Entrance to the Sultan Abu Bakar Museum is free from now until 31 June 2016 but there is a catch. Only one gallery is open for the public. It looks beautiful from the street and is quite large, but only on room was open. It was very disappointing.

Its a good place to visit whenever you reach Kuantan and have no idea where to go. the place is just 30 minutes from Kuantan. The key place to go is The Museum Abu Bakar. I love the environment, surroundings.. the building itself.. love it! I can see a lot of spaces and deparment that should be great to visit but only i building is open for exhibition.. i dont have enough to see when am here.. i want to see more. Analysis place 90% is legendary or history of the spirit in people's in Pekan, Pahang. Experience like we've tried to get imaging about life, future, and what's are we live to all people in world to knowing who are we.

Very nice building and it looked more unique after refurbishment (though that meant that the museum was closed for about 5-7 years). Located within the town area; can walk from the bus station. You'll need like 1-3 hours for this.
