Ditch the tour company and spend as much time here as you want
Had looked at some tours to Old Phuket Town but having hired a local taxi driver to take us here from Patong, I would recommend doing some basic research yourself, putting your walking shoes on, and hitting the town for your own tour. Easy to navigate. Lots of shops and cafes and beautiful buildings to enjoy or photograph.

A must visit if you enjoy experiencing different cultures
Wonderful experience in the Old Town. Very lively nightlife and a freindly environment. The Lard Yai market on sundays is a must if you are travelling to Phuket as there are many affordable shops here, and young performers singing and playing instruments.

    Colourful buildings
Busy with lots of pretty, colourful buildings. The shops underneath didn't seem to offer anything amazing - tourist wear, souvenirs, etc - but it's nice to browse. There are lots of photo opportunities and there's always a cafe or massage place to drop in to if it's too hot or it's raining. There are even toilets down little side alleys which I was expecting to be pretty poor but they were clean and more than acceptable. I was dropped off but parking didn't look great.

    Ok
There is not that much to see. We took the bus from Karon beach to Phuket for 40 Bath and than we took the bus to Patong for also 40 Bath. Don't take the bus in a rush-hour after school, the bus can be quite full.

    Great Historic Walk
The area to walk around is quite compact and easy on the legs. I would do a bit of research and get an on-line walking guide to give you a bit of context and appreciation. There is some wonderful blends of architecture along with eating opportunities and religious buildings. This is a great historic walk and well worth the effort. Mix in with a visit to the night markets or a ferry so you're not travelling distance just to do this - add a bit of value, so to speak.

    A great place to visit
The colorful Sino-colonial style buildings are well-restored and beautifully decorated. There are restaurants, souvenir shops, cafes, dispensaries, and Tottori’s parlors catering to tourists. A nice place to spend your vacation in Phuket if you want something other than the exotic beaches.

    Charming Part of Phuket
Walked around here briefly and enjoyed looking at the brightly painted Sino-Portuguese townhouses and the activity in this part of town. The main street is Thalang Rd with some very interesting shops. This is the historical part of Phuket. Some interesting cafes and restaurants. Ate at one of them.

Take time to visit Old Town
After several visits to Phuket, primarily Patong Beach, I finally got to explore Old Town Phuket. And would again. It has a very different flair to hectic Patong - and we enjoyed the colours and flavours of this area. Including the 3D museum which was an hour or 2 of different fun.

    Colourful and vibrant place
Excellent and well worth the visit especially on a market day. The place was heaving with stalls and tourists. Very lively and vibrant atmosphere. But be careful of pickpockets. The buildings are quaint and colourfully decorated. Some excellent restaurants and bars

Once a visit to this Old town is good enough
As the town name implies, many old historical buildings around. Good to walk around to kill time with many shops selling souvenirs, clothes, food etc. Tourist place and hence most items are expensive though. Traffic are a little heavy with motorcycles wheezing past so be careful. Once a visit is good enough for me though.

Worth a visit if your in Phuket . Ideal place to pick up souvenirs and try some local delicacy
We lunched a popular Chinese Thai restaurant that seemed popular and honestly had some of the best food since we’ve been in Thailand.

Tip; target late afternoons and we went midday and struggled with the heat

It’s about 45 minutes outward from
Karon Beach, absolutely worth a look- recommend morning as it’s quiet for photos … if I’m honest glorious architecture but very much for instagram/ socials … got some very pretty pictures …. as far as Phuket goes I’d say London prices… avoided Sunday market as I heard it was mega busy .. beyond belief … we went to get a few photos, lots of coffee bars etc … probably a place to do once … it’s is beautiful but aimed for tourism ..

Check out this wonderful sightseeing place in Phuket! It's very lively and environmentally friendly. The buildings are in the charming Chino-Portuguese style, which gives off a vintage and cool vibe. It's a good place to take pictures. I visited on a really hot day, and there are many cafes and local restaurants worth trying. There are also lots of boutique clothing stores and souvenir shops with reasonable prices. Overall, it was a very delightful experience

This is a good place to take picture since there are lot of colourful, historical and beautiful buildings, which make Phuket old town a cultural oriented place. We went there in very hot weather, and there are lots of coffee shop and old style shops for souvenir, Thai Food and Thai Milk Tea. I haven't stay overnight, but should be very good at night.

A nice trip out, which offered a nice break from the very vibrant life in Patong!

We drove down from Patong Beach (25 minutes or so) and stopped off to have lunch and buy a few souvenirs to take home.

It was amazing- so so busy but had such an amazing atmosphere. So big. But if you are coming from far (like Kata or Karong) make sure you leave in plenty of time. It will take you a hour with traffic. Soak in the atmosphere and get there with plenty of time to explore. I would get there for 6pm
