- Charlotte L1 contributionBrilliant for a day out, needs path changingWe enjoyed a lovely morning, there was lots to do and the kids really enjoyed themselves, but unfortunately my son split his head open on the footpath near the small animals as it is literally cement with stones chucked in it, luckily there was a first responder (not on duty) to help. To make things worse staff walked right past us dealing with it (there was a lot of blood and crying) almost knocking my daughter over (who was stood still) with a wheel barrow which had a broken corner that nearly caught her head. When I said something to her about it she smiled and carried on walking. The path needs changing it’s so dangerous especially when there are excited kids about who want to run around. The lady that we found at reception was brilliant and she couldn’t have been more helpful so thank you to her.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 May 2023
- HOLLIE H67 contributionsExcellent experience and lots to do!Play Dale is an excellent day out! We visited With our 4 year old on our recent holiday to Filey and we all enjoyed this place! So so much to do, our little one loved it all but really loved the hay barn, giant sand pit, go karts, frisby golf which was very quirky and the wooden kart ride! Really recommend, cute animals to feed too!Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 7 July 2023
- lydsYorkshire, United Kingdom11 contributionsAmazing for School TripsI am a teacher at a primary school and our three reception classes visited on three different days. Every single class had an amazing day! One class had a rainy day but everyone still had a great time. There is so much to do inside that it didn’t harm the experience at all. The other two classes had sunny days and made the most of it. We particularly loved the outdoor sledge run, the children got multiple runs and were smiling from ear to ear. We were well looked after by the farmers and staff. We all loved the interactivity of the animals. The children learnt so much from this. Thank you Playdale! I couldn’t recommend it enough to families but especially school trips!Visited June 2023Travelled on businessWritten 8 July 2023
- graemeholmes69Durham, United Kingdom114 contributionsValue for money and guaranteed fun day out. What a gem to find. £40 for a full family days entertainment. Loads of young animals to feed and have fun with, plenty of outdoor activities to keep young and older amused for hours. Frisbee golf is so good to play. Indoor and outdoor play areas, indoor play barn too. Facilities are really good, food good, if limited and staff friendly and ever helpful. Lots of picnic areas/tables, toilets good and cleaned regularly throughout the day. Overall we were a very happy, if worn out, family who had played and laughed for hours. Recommend this place highly. Defo visit again.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 July 2023
- Jopetley7 contributionsAll the superlatives!Fantastic place! Excellent value for money and so much to do. Kids loved feeding and petting the animals. Friendly staff. Clean and very well maintained. Lovely picnic area if you want to bring your own pack lunch. Animals looked really well looked after and content. Some really thoughtful and creative touches for example in the small animals area, the little 'scenes' that had been put together in the pens..very cute. Hay bales area just simple but hugely enjoyable. Highly recommend. We were on holiday in the area and I left wishing we lived nearby to visit again!! The tag line "come rain or shine you'll have a good time" is absolutely true.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 July 2023
- Matt E13 contributionsLast minute Birthday PartyDue to a very rainy forecast, we needed a short notice Plan-B for our son’s 4th birthday party. With 48 hours notice, the farm was able to accommodate our party with a great package. The whole team at the farm were just purely brilliant from arrival until we left, ensuring the party went so smoothly. The weather was truly horrible, but that didn’t stop the kids, as there is so much indoors. The hay-barn was great fun to begin with, the children climbing and running over the hay-bails. We moved on to feeding the animals and managed to catch Guinea pig holding session. We then a great buffet in cafe before heading to the softplay barn. In the end we had 12 extremely tired, happy toddlers (and parents) We visit a handful of times a season, and it’s always excellent experience. What the team did for us and our son’s birthday will not be forgotten. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Visited July 2023Written 25 July 2023
- LJKLondon, United Kingdom22 contributionsNice day out but a bit expensiveNice day out despite the relentless rain. The animals were lovely especially the chick handling and the play barn was a saviour for a rainy day. The negatives would be the price and lack of family discount too. £42 for 2 adults and 2 children is pretty steep in my opinion. The track to the farm is full of potholes and needs to be resurfaced. It’s common on farms but this track is particularly long and particularly bumpy. I’d love to see an EV charging point installed. Especially if they have solar panels (not sure if they have any or not as mainly needed to shelter indoors today!)Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 August 2023
- Jennie H16 contributionsLovely farm day out.We visited with our 3.5yr old who had a great time. She got to stroke a chick and a Guinea pig which made her day. She also enjoyed feeding sheep and goats. The alpaca and llama were a bit scary for her! It’s true that the road to the farm is uneven but just think of it as cheap speed control! At 10 mph it’s perfectly fine. Also possible to walk along the verge but wouldn’t recommend with a stroller buggy. In general the whole site is not best suited to small wheel buggies as it’s largely loose gravel. If you have the option to use a bigger wheeled off road model then definitely worth it or we saw several parents utilising slings. Despite being a sunny Saturday in august it was surprisingly quiet. Lots of room to look around without having to shuffle along in a queue like other similar places we have been. We took a picnic; there is a huge covered open sided barn to eat them in next to a window selling drinks. But for ice cream you need to walk back to the entrance cafe/shop. You can also get a stamp on your hand to pass back out to your car to get your picnic/drinks/extra clothes etc. The site itself isn’t huge so it’s not too much of a trek to do that. You need socks for the soft play area (there are two areas within the barn, one under 4 and one 4-12 plus ride on tractors). In general a really good day out. Could be improved with better paths for accessibility and a little more signage in places (eg confirming you can feed/not feed certain animals, the baby change facilities, which road to take at entrance to farm road).Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 August 2023
- northernstar7727 contributionsWonderful! This place is fantastic. We’ve been twice, once last year and again this week. It’s a beautiful place, stunning scenery and loads for the kids to do including soft play, bales of hay in the massive barn, animal handling, animal feeding, outdoor games etc. It’s a sensational place!Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 August 2023
- Jo PLincoln, United Kingdom8 contributionsGreat family day out :)Playdale farm is a great day out for the kids! The large indoor soft play barn includes a large wavy slide, a toddler park, ride on tractors and under 4 soft play area. Outdoors there’s hay barn, sandpits (which is covered), ride on diggers (£1 a go), ride on tractors (£1 a go), large animal barn with sheep, lamas, goats, pigs, pony’s, chickens of all ages. It also includes Guinea pigs and chicks that you can handle at set times. Smaller animal barn includes rats, quails, rabbits etc. there are lots of outdoor playgrounds plus zip line, go karts, sledging track and frisbee course. There are plenty of picnic benches if you take a picnic or a cafe and shop if you don’t. We went in August and it was busy but not bad, the only thing we queued for was the animal handling, which is obviously very popular! Overall a really great family day out and well worth the money! Would recommend :)Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 September 2023

This was our second visit to Playdale farm with our small grandson. This time for the pumpkin carving experience. My grandson lived picking out his own pumpkin from the patch with its brilliantly themed Halloween display.
I must say us adults thoroughly enjoyed helping carve the gruesome face on th pumpkin.
As usual we had to feed the animals and this time were lucky enough to be in time for the guinea pig petting session.
Our grandson took advantage of the sand pit barn, soft play barn and of course several goes on the £1 in the slot small tractors.
Yes it is a good way off the main road down farm track and yes there were many pot holes after the bad weather conditions and bearing in mind it's only two weeks until farm closes for the winter and they must have thousands of visitors during summer but to our family's mind the fun hours had are well worth a bumpy road. Hopefully track will be repaired before next year's opening.
A great fun place to entertain and educate children and to keep a working farm viable.

This is a lovely little farm and we had another great half day visiting. My only gripes is that half terms differ over the country so it was such a shame the pumpkin hunt etc was not offered even though the pumpkins were set out as you went around the farm. The road up is also horrendous really does need sorting if you want visitors to continue coming and maybe a couple of people on the counter in the cafe would be good. The girl who served us was lovely and she was doing great but getting cakes, making drinks, taking hot food orders, filling up coffee machine and taking payments was a little much for one when there is a large queue waiting

Grandson had great fun in the hay Bale barn and in the soft play area. Loved the the go karts and the track slide round the back.
1 point docked for poor signage to get to go there , only found them because I wandered over to see the budgies.
Two very sad looking ponies and no info on the pigs and they were camped at the bottom of the food chute with their mouths open in anticipation ...
One thing needs addressing is the road in , my god never seen so many potholes in one road seriously needs filling !!!
Parking is free ..

There is so much to do at Playdale Farm Park. Lots of animals to see, feed and pet. Outdoor play activities and, if the weather turns, Indoor play activities. It's a sprawling Park with loads of amazing things to do. There are also lots of picnic benches for you to take your own picnics OR there is a lovely little Cafe which has a good variety of food, hot and cold, and a little shop.
We had a lovely time there and could have spent the whole day if we'd arrived earlier, and still not managed to see everything.

We arrived very early so were able to use all of the equipment, there is enough to keep a child occupied for a couple of hours Grandson enjoyed the pedal carts and the sledge ride also the climbing frames and slides,
From an adult point of view the entry fee is overly expensive and if you value the suspension on your car beware of the road in to the farm

We were staying in Ganton and so it wasn't too far from us. Good information given on arrival with a little map of everything. Went nice and early so it wasn't chaotic. Great play areas for toddlers and those a little bigger. Some pleasantly different activities going on for all ages with tricycles (noticed many of the adults sneaking a go for themselves - inlcluding me). A little toboggan run type activity but watch the toboggan doesn't hit the buffers too hard as it gives you a bit of a lurch forward in your seat! The animal area is well laid out and the directions clearly marked out with good handwashing facilities at the end for hygiene. All the pens and animal enclosures were very clean and the animals clearly well looked after. Very friendly goats, sheep and alpacas which scrapped for your attention but mostly for your bags of food. Cafe food was okay and varied and average sort of prices. Lots of seating outdoors also and a haybarn which was fantastic for kids and a sand area both of which toddlers enjoyed tremendously and safely. Great place to spend a few hours and lots to keep the children occupied. Gentle snoozing in the child seats 5 mins after leaving!!

Absolutely fabulous day out! Amazing place, so much to see and do. Very friendly owner and staff members. Food served in the cafe was really nice with plenty of choice too! (Lovely picnic area if you choose to take your own) The animals looked very happy and very well cared for. The outdoor go karts were fun for the adults and the children and there is a great game of frizby golf to be had if you are up for the challenge. My favourite, the donkeys loved having their ears scratched and the goats were very chatty too! The large indoor soft play /sand pit/ straw bail barn kept my granddaughter busy for a few hours and the outdoor play parks (2) , zip line and summer sledging were great fun. We had just the best day and can’t wait to visit again. Great value for money (even the little gift shop was realistically priced which was very welcomed) Highly recommend a visit . Thank you Playdale Farm Park for an amazing experience ❤️

Farm facilities really great fun- we loved the hay bales for the kids to climb, Trolleys were fun, indoor and outdoor play frame was well received by the kids. Holding the chicks and guinea pigs was lovely. Sheep and goats very up for eating the bags of animal feed!
Staff really seemed unwelcoming though. The girls in the cafe kept chatting for ages without acknowledging us standing right in front of them. They only allow use of two of the 30 odd cafe tables after 3pm, even though it was beginning to rain and they were still open for food. Seemed to be lots of people coming in to look at the menu and leaving without ordering once they learned there was nowhere dry to sit.
After 4.30 staff seemed annoyed we were still onsite, even though its supposed to be open until 5pm. Got irritated at the kids using play areas they had just swept/ hoovered.
I would ask the owners if they read this to please put more into the rats cage- they are such bright creatures on an intelligence level with dogs- they would love some proper climbing structures like those you have in place for the chipmunks.
This place would benefit greatly from tractor rides or a jumping pillow.
Toddler was surprised there were no cows!

No. There are lots of animals in small enclosures to allow children to see and feed them. Why would you take a dog (of any size) somewhere like that?

Seamer is the nearest railway station. There’s no taxi rank so you would have to pre order one - it’s about 3 miles to Playdale farm
