Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is one of the oldest mosques in Bosnia. It has specific minaret and roof design adapted to high snows in winter season. During the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia the whole village was burned down by Serbian forces except for this mosque. The legend says that imam of the mosque cured a child of one Yugoslav People’s Army officer, who was among forces which captured and burned the village and he allegedly didn’t allow for mosque to be burned. The mosque is opened for Friday pray, not sure about the daily pray since there’s another mosque also in the center of the village.

Small mountain mosque with a very unusual minaret. At the graveyard next to it there are also some Bosnian medieval heretic's tombstones - "stecak".

Mosque in Umoljani is a little mosque located in the tiny town of Umoljani, in the Bjelasnica Mountains, near Sarajevo. This mosque is very modern and the tower is constructed with metal due to the cold in winter. It is located in the middle of the land and there are great views of the mountains and surroundings. Pitifully, when we went there (in summer-2015), the mosque was closed.

Interesting mosque with great history. The tower is kind of "high altitude" architecture, because winters here are harsh.

Umoljani is a hidden small village. It is just an hour and a half (drive) from Sarajevo. You can be in the middle of pure nature with cattle, sometimes sheep, you can find beehives and old farmers. Just some old houses are preserved. Mosque is on an old place with cemetery - stečki. The tower of the mosque is very strange.
Visit also some mills and other groups with stečki (tombstones) not far from the village. If you are good hiker, go to Lukomir.
