We heard good stories about Radda, but honestly its just two streets that you are able to see in ten minutes. Would not recommend making a detour to see it. Castellina in Chianti has more to offer you.

Radda is more commercial than most towns in the area, but this is no bad thing as it thus offers a wider selection of local stores to peruse. The medieval charm is however still abundant. The Palazzo is set in a square which contains a...More

Radda is a very nice little town. In the middle of the town this square is located with a church and the old town hall.

The Palazzo is only one of several quaint, historical buildings in this beautiful town. The town is not big and the lovely alleys and the tiny square can be viewed in little over an hour. A must if one is in the area.

We attended an art show here and it was quite well organised. A good venue for these types of exhibits.

The Podesta were the so-called mayors of the day and had short times in office, were imported and selected rather than elected. Their coats of arms are displayed on the ancient town hall.

For visitors there is basically one pedestrian street with a selection of small shops a lovely little church and some splendid views. It won't take long to see but it is worth including in a trip around the Chianti region.
