This is a historic site with a well of information about Roman Britain. The location is rather remote, and roads leading to the site are quite narrow with only a few places where cars in opposite direction can pass each other. Once I arrived on a Saturday, the place was quiet with only two other cars with visitors. I was told that this was unusual and was due to an event in nearby Chichester. The floor mosaics are impressive and sufficiently complete to get a good image of what they would have looked like originally. The display and information panels were a bit dated and could do with a refresh. There is a small tea shop with limited snacks. Unfortunately, they were unable to serve ice creams on the hot day I was there, as their freezer was broken.

This place is a must! The picturesque countryside is perfect for the villa. Seen lovely relics and amazing mosaics mostly intact. Brilliant day out. Very informative about the Roman History here. Thanks so much for looking after this place. Very special. Very impressed. Also the earl grey tea was lovely relaxing outside by the villa. Good to see a model of what the villa looked like in Roman era. Lovely day for visiting. We all enjoyed the visit. Saw lots of interesting items an what was done with them and how the romans lived.

An amazing place to visit!! So much history, the villa speaks for itself and it really is family friendly. Something for everyone to find out and enjoy. Take a leisurely walk back to Roman times and see their way of everyday life.
From farming to entertaining, from water to heating.
Have a go at their games and admire the warmth of their home life.
Tuck in to lovely snacks and cakes and enjoy tea or local ice cream. Really lovely people, nothing is too much for them to make your visit a happy one.
Many things on during the year, make sure you don't miss anything.

Set in gorgeous countryside, you can follow the story of how a place lost in history has been found and lovingly cared for. It’s a villa that feeds the imagination and brings an age back to life.

We had an absolutely wonderful visit!! We took our young Grandsons who thoroughly enjoyed the Sunflower Maze and were so interested in the Villa itself.
In the Maze they had to find 6 Stamp Points for their cards which won them a Pumpkin at the October Pumpkin event. There were fascinating Bees on the huge plants but all too busy to even notice us, great for photos though!
In the Villa things are explained in clear language with some interactive tiles etc which enabled visitors of all ages to understand the work involved with mosaics.
Ours found something to learn about in every room and really enjoyed it all.
They chose their souvenirs carefully and, as the prices were so reasonable, were delighted to be able to have a whole range of items that were not only lovely but so interesting and educational and a fun reminder of our splendid day out.
Lovely people!! Nothing was too much for them, they were unobtrusively everywhere and all with genuine smiles and all taking a personal interest in ensuring all the visitors enjoyed themselves and had the best experience possible.
And all this was during this current heatwave and it is testament to the outstanding running of this place that we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
So a big thank you to Liz, Lisa, Hannah, Jemima, Thomas and Lou Lou!!!!
The Roman Villa and the Sunflower Maze are perfect, you guys just enhanced perfection, well done!!!

Mark my husband, Chloe my 13 year old stepdaughter and I had a fantastic time at Bignor Roman Vila.
We got a coffee and scones from the small cafe and sat outside on the picnic tables facing beautiful scenery. Take a picnic with you as there’s mainly cake, scones, crisps , tea, coffee and soft drinks at the cafe. No sandwiches etc.
The villa itself was so interesting and in good condition. Many lovely mosaics with interesting stories etc.
James was a great guide. Knew so much about everything when we wanted to know about the history etc. Thanks for making our visit extra special.
We were lucky that the Worthing Archeological Society were on a dig outside the villa. Trying to uncover a Roman Road. They were lovely and showed us what they had found.
Definitely would go again.

A great place to visit on a sunny and warm spring day. The most impressive mosaics we have seen in Britain (and we’ve seen quite a few), and an interesting display of artefacts. There are toilets and a reasonably priced cafe. We had a cream tea outside at the picnic tables amongst the bases of Roman columns. A good day out and not far from the coast.

Well worth a trip. Fascinating ancient Roman mosaics in excellent condition. There's also a little cafe on site, Lovely countryside roundabouts as well with views of the South Downs.
Not terribly easy to get to on public transport, though I think there's a bus that stops nearby.

Rustic, quaint and above all interesting. We visited on a cold, wet October afternoon. Initially we were the only visitors. We were made welcome and we had opportunity to talk through the history of the site and what is hoped for the future. All exhibits are clearly explained. The team room had plenty of cakes to savour. Be prepared for dull lighting on dark days with uneven floors as the site has no electricity to light the way.
Note the site closes for the winter.

We visited here on a dull, chilly Friday morning. There is a small museum and several mosaic floors in various conditions. They are well labelled but, due to the lack of lighting the buildings were quite dark. There are toilets, a cafe which we didn't use and outside picnic tables. Outside there are two labyrinths imprinted in the grass and a hopscotch game. We spent an hour or so looking round. Worth a visit . Ticket prices are around £5 . Check website for opening days and times.

We travelled from Arundel. Google maps confirms that it is 31miles and approximately 45 mins to drive.(7am) I would say allow longer if travelling in time for it to open as there will be more cars on the road. I hope you have a good day
