Wow! Let it all be a surprise, but know that you will be amazed at each feature of this amazing experience. Seeing the glowworms was like watching the Milky Way on a really dark night. Our guide was fabulous; I'm just sorry I can't remember...More

We had an absolute blast! Trains ride thought the forest, a little hiking, amazing cave, so many GLOW WORMS, and tubing though the cave and river. You get to experience it all with great guides. Even better, they take photos of the whole journey that...More

Took the four hour tour that encompassed a train ride through forest, then a hike leading to 131 steps that brings you to the cave entrance. We were all previously given helmuts with lights and the guide then began the adventure. We saw thousands of...More

Our guide Andrea was excellent. As with most tours in NZ, there is an expectation of fitness, and that's true with this one. My husband and I both in our 60s did fine, but if we had been with much younger people we might have...More

Lovely day out- warm inside the wet suits initially but beautiful once we were underground. The cave system was beautiful- and it felt like an adventure more than a tourist cave. Peter was an excellent guide- great mixture of information and humour throughout. Being dragged...More

You need to be relatively fit for this activity, however, we are active 60+ year olds and managed this ok. It is a well organised and planned trip starting with a briefing of what to expect. We changed into wet suits, bootees, gloves and life...More

They run excellent trips through rainforest to cave, in the cave, and along the river. And also their cafe serves decent food. Worth the stop. Oh, and very friendly staff, particularly the guy running the cave tours, helped us a lot.

We did not go to the Waitomo caves, but when we spoke to others who had gone there they said that it was wonderful but very crowded with many tourists. This experience was up close, quiet and personal. Your choice.
