We stopped by unannounced and were treated like long lost guests. The caretaker showed us around the place … more of an orchard than a vineyard … and let us taste pears, grapes, herbs and etc. right off the trees and plants.
We were given a barrel tasting and watched them hand label bottles.
Then we tasted 5-6 wines with the owner chef Jen, who could not have been nicer. All the wines were really good … even the low cost "Wednesday wine."
Next time we're in Chile, we will definitely come back …, and make reservations for lunch or dinner there.

I found out about this winery by pure chance. Although I am a regular visitor to wineries almost all over the world, and therefore a wine lover, I was completely unaware of the existence of this winery. When planning a visit to Chile (my third visit to the country), we chose to visit wineries in the Aconcagua, Casablanca and Maipo valleys. When researching wineries in Aconcagua, I noticed that there were two small wineries, previously unknown to me, that were highly rated. And one of them was Wines Flaherty. When researching further, my attention was drawn to the fact that the owner, Ed Flaherty, is a Californian winemaker, with experience in making Opus One, an icon wine from Napa Valley, in making the exceptional Chilean wine Seña, with work in other wineries in Chile. This was essential for including Flaherty in the script. And we were not disappointed. On the contrary, we had a great experience there, tasting great red wines, in the company of the guide Antônio, wines that are reminiscent of great Californian reds, as well as a magnificent lunch prepared by Jen Flaherty, Ed's wife, and chef. All in all, a very pleasant surprise! Obviously, to not miss the opportunity, I bought three bottles from two different labels. Unmissable visit!

My husband and I visited Flaherty Wines in mid-December with his parents who are Chilean. It was exactly the type of boutique experience we were looking for! We chose a dinner/wine pairing option along with our tour and tasting. Dinner was not only a delectable, three course "in season meal" meal, but it was also handmade and served by the owners themselves!! Such wonderful people!! (And their story will amaze you!) Overall it was a truly remarkable experience that you could NEVER get at one of those big wineries without spending a complete fortune. I would recommend Flaherty Winery any day of the week!

I visited the Flaherty winery whilst on a bicycle tour. It's not often that I take much time out in the middle of the day, but I'm so glad I did for my visit to Ed and Jen and their winery. The tour, the tasting, and then the lunch were all superb. The wine is delicious, and the pairings were spot on. This, combined with the exceptional hospitality, mean that this visit will remain one of the highlights of my visit to the region. Highly recommended.

This was actually a substitute for Errázuriz which was difficult to schedule then decided they would shut down for the holiday. Turns out Flaherty was the highlight of our 3 day wine tasting in San Antonio, Aconcagua & Casablanca valleys. Jen created an unbelievable lunch which we ate in her garden. She came out and described each course, much of which was from her garden and orchard and of course paired with the perfect Flaherty wines! The food was Michelin star quality but it was really the personal attention that won us over. Be prepared for ingenious winery techniques, great food, intimate tastings, & great value (it was the only wine that we took back in our suite case).

A detailed tour started what would be an amazing day at this winery.
The grounds are not the ones of a perfectly landscaped touristic vineyard but the ones of a country house... and that is exactly how it felt.
We opted for a packaged that included a tour, wine tasting and 3-course lunch for CLP 30,000 (roughly USD 46) per person.
Going back to the tour (led by Craig), you can expect a typical Chilean country house, a warehouse where wine barrels are stored, a small vine plantation and an orchard.
The lunch is preceeded by the wine tasting of three blends. Being a wine consumer (not a wine connoisseur) I really enjoyed all of them, particularly the fruit forward house wine labeled "Casa del Magnolio" (sold for CLP 6,000 or roughly USD 10).
During lunch you are also offered their own "Champagne-style" sparkling wine. Really lovely.
The food is prepared by Jen, co-owner and a master of her craft. Not only she is great at delivering a great culinary experience, but also amazing at making you and your family feel like at home.
I have to say, I can't think of any other vineyard or restaurant where everyone has gone at such great lengths to make sure us and our daughter had such an amazing time. It really felt like you were visiting a family member determined to pamper you.
Finally, I had the chance to met Ed, co-owner and winemaker. He has not only willing to explain his wines but also to recommend neighboring vineyards, which I think speaks highly of him.
As I said to Craig and the owners, nothing in Chile gets you closer to the feeling of being in an Italian family-run winery as much as they do in Flaherty. Give it a shot as Aconcagua Valley is coming and coming strong (and not thanks to Errazuriz Wines but thanks to smaller wineries such as this one).

A group of us did a tour of the winery and property with Craig ( who has forgotten more about wine barrels then our group possibly knew) leading the way. The wines were excellent and the meal that Jen prepared was one of the most memorable I have ever had. If I wasn't on another continent I would be back next week!

The Flaherty Wines have a great tour and tasting to offer. We visited two vineyard that day (the other one: Vina El Escorial) and I found that those two tours are complementary in the information given and the visit.
Also, we had comments that it really worth it to take the complete package with the meal... Unfortunatly, we did not try it.

We visited Aconcagua Valley on our way to Portillo and we we're so glad we stopped to spend a night! We did an evening tour and tasting followed by an incredible 3-course dinner with wine pairings cooked by Jen. We would highly recommend this experience! It was super cool to hear about the vineyard and winemaking from Craig and then to dine at Jen's table. Jen even joined us for dessert and shared her experiences about life in Chile. The food and wine was all super tasty and the whole visit was excellent value! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We have a family business investment nearby and all of us shareholders live either in Europe or the US. We come to Rinconada about 4 times a year and we make it a point to see whats around and get to know the area as much as possible.
Wine is a personal passion of mine having been to wineries extensively in Spain, Napa, Portugal and of course Chile.
This boutique winery is one of those special places that tells it as it is. No overselling no pressure no BS. Just two transplanted Californians and Craig of course doing their thing. The love of wine and their passions just oozes from their pores. Grapes, Varietals artisanal wine making thats what it is all about. Done like the old days. Craig shows us around and explains their philosophy and their adventures when Ed and Jen decided to lay down roots in Chile and make wine. Their two boys were born there. Jen a woman of many passions loves her garden and thankfully for the rest of us like to cook and boy does it show.
Lets get back to wine. The backstory to Flaherty is awesome and makes for a great intro. The wines we tried all three and they are truly grand wines. Personally I am a Rioja man and it is very hard to compare as Wines are very different and very personal but to be honest these wines were very good. But remember despite the great wine its the story as well as the food that will have you enchanted and keep coming back.
