Beautiful estate, but tour and tasting are quite expensive. My husband and I had the guide to ourselves for the visit but the tasting was done with another group. Good wine, they also served cheese and crackers. The tour is more about the history of the vineyard and the guide was following a script. At the end we were able to get an extra glass of wine and sit outside on the patio with a beautiful view of the winery and the mountains. Reservations needed.

Went on a wine tour today and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The grounds are beautiful, well kept and picture perfect. Our guide, whose name my wife and I forgot, was fantastic – knowledgeable about the history of the vineyard and quite personable.
Following the tour, we did a wine tasting of 4 Gran Reserva Wines – Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. As a matter of personal taste, we both thought the Chardonnay was quite a pleasant surprise – sweeter on the palate than normal with a refreshing crisp lemon after taste. The Syrah surprised as well tasting big and bold with a nice long finish, which we don’t normally associate w/ the Syrah’s we have tasted in the past. I feel there were two downsides to this tasting: 1) the accouterments which were basically just cheese and crackers. That is one of the things we dislike re: wine tastings in Chile in general in that the snacks are so minimal whereas in Mendoza it is typical to get an assortment of nuts, dried berries and cheese and crackers. The 2nd thing we did not like was that we had actually reserved for a tasting of the Don Maximiano line which they could not accommodate because they did not have any open bottles and could not open any even though we were willing to pay additional. The price btw for the tasting was 20K CHP. The tour of the vineyard was included in the tasting.

Despite the noted negative above, everything was still great. Our guide knew enough about wines to teach us a new thing or two which is always quite nice as in other vineyards, all they really do is pour the wine, read the description and move away.

Then came the lunch - We reserved the wine pairing and found all the dishes to be either meeh or really bad. For appetizers we had the smoked salmon and the Patagonian ham. The salmon was something you could buy in any grocery store and the cheese that went with it didn’t complement either the salmon or the Sauvignon Blanc. The ham dish had 4 different pieces of ham and we found one to be quite nice and the other 3 to be meeh. We next had the pumpkin soup which was nice but nothing extraordinary. Our main course was absolutely horrendous. I had the lamb and my wife had boar ribs. Both tasted as if they were re-heated. The lamb was overcooked and tougher than a baseball; the ribs were dry dry dry! After about 2-3 bites, we both gave in and just asked for more bread. As for pairings, the lamb was paired w/ a Gran Reserva Carmenere which tasted quite good and the ribs were paired w/ a Gran Reserva Syrah. For dessert, we had a chocolate opera and gran marnier infused cheesecake. Both were a step up from the main course but didn’t exactly wow. To cap of our meal, we both asked for an espresso that tasted like it was Juan Valdez Instant Coffee. Despite the horrendous meal which cost 30K Chilean pesos or 60usd per person, I will state that service was quite on point.

So, 5 stars for the tour and the wine tasting but definitely skip the lunch. Unless perhaps you are coming during the busy months during which time I assume that a bigger group means a more involved chef.

Also, a couple pointers for drivers. If you are going to or heading from Vina San Esteban, don’t follow your GPS specially if you are using Apple Maps. It is wrong. There is a stretch of road that says it will connect you from the main road to Rte 60 but that road is a gravely road that will take you nowhere. We found our way back to Rte 60 asking the locals so I suggest figuring out a better way to get through the two estates. Regarding getting to the winery heading east, you will read one sign that says Vina Errazuriz is 3.5km away. That is wrong. It is actually about 2.5 km away. However, just look for the signage for Vina Von Siebenthal as that little road is the same road to get to Vina Errazuriz and is not as confusing as the other signs on Rt 60.

Everything about our trip to this winery was wonderful. Beautiful countryside, great wines, incredible tour by Pedro Farias who knows his stuff. He made us feel so special and we had such fun tasting so many awesome wines. Dont miss this winery and the beautiful Anconcagua Valley.

We are two sommelier from Italy.
We have travelled all over the world in the most important winery and we always where welcomed and treated with kindness and respect for our professionality. Sometime time constrains have forced us to run or adjust schedule and the winerys have been able to understand and help us.
We have writen an Email to book a reservation to visit Errazuriz on Saturday. They reply to us that on Weekend is closed but that they will be happy to receive us Monday to Friday and to write them if we would have another date to come.

We have arranged our schedule in order to be at the winery on Monday instead of Saturday; we have arrived on Errazuriz on Monday at 11am.

When we arrived a girl ask us if we had a reservation; we explain that we have change our schedule to be able to be in their winery on Monday instead of the original planning. She has wanted to know who have writen to us; we say Fernando (we do not have the email there); she reply us that there was any Fernando working there.

She told us that we can visit only with a reservation. That she was busy since there was a tour at 12 in Spanish; we say that we can understand Spanish so no problem to join. She told that it was the iconic tour for 30.000 pesos per person.

Since we don’t what wait for an hour to join the tour we asked if it was possible to taste a wine by the glass at the bar counter.
She told us that they does not serve wine by the glass and the only way to taste the wine was by buying a bottle.
We couldn’t believe that they were not able to serve a glass of wine in their bar!
We insisted telling her that we come from Italy doing 15.000 km to taste their wine, and we show her the mails we have sent and received from “FernandA”, she told us that She is Fernanda (!?!?). She has tried to explained to us that in the mail there was not an invitation to come without a reservation (she has replied to us that they will be happy to have us from Monday to Friday) and the lady told us that she need to speak with her boss.
She come back and told us that they can make an exception by offering a wine tasting of three wine but alone since she were busy with the tour.
We accept and she come with the wines and her boss; they give us the wines and immediately take the bottles since they told us they need to put back on fridge (reds wine on fridges at 4 degree with a tour coming at minutes?!?! Red wines have a service temperature between 18-20 degree and outside where we were seated there was not more then 13 degree). We had asked to take a picture of bottles just to understand what we were going to taste since they even do not present the wine!
They live us alone without any explanation.
We stayed there since 1 o’clock in the afternoon and none arrive to attend this “iconic tour at 12 am”.
The girl and her boss stayed in their desk all the time doing noting for 1 hour and half; but they told us they were so busy with a tour to not be able to dedicate 5 minutes to present their wine.
The crazy thing is that they told us fake information just to have an excuse to not assist us.
Errazuriz you do fantastic wine but welcome people and service is a must!

We hope that such situation will never happen again to nobody visiting your premises.

My girlfriend and I wanted to try the wine tasting lunch on February 17. We submitted a request on their website two weeks in advance. One week later, we sent another request to include two more people on our reservation. As we didn't get any response, we had the concierge in our hotel call the day before to confirm the reservation. She did and they said all was ok. She also sent an e-mail just to be safe. The problems started when we got there. There was no information of were to go, no receptionist and no signs to where the entrance was. The only person available was the cashier, who was busy selling wine to another group and didn't even look at us. When we were finally able to ask about our reservation, she said she couldn't find it, that there was no e-mail and that no one had called (which is impossible, because we were standing right in front of the hotel concierge when she called). She was very rude and didn't even offer us an alternative. A very frustrating and infuriating experience.

We love wine. After arriving in Chile, we went through 8 vineyards in four days. But Errazuriz was our last and thought to be out top destination in Chile.
We arranged with great difficulty for a lunch ( $60 pp ) and icon tour ( $80 pp ) of the vineyard. While most vineyards would settle for a credit car guarantee, Errazuriz requires bank transfers which are almost impossible to do from abroad. At the end, we managed.
The vineyard is beautiful. The tour was informative and quite good.
The lunch was catered but the meals were definitely not worth the price. The setting was quite wonderful though, sitting in a patio in full view of the vineyard.
The tasting was very disappointing. They offered 3 wine to taste : Kai Camenere , a Syrah La Cumbre and a cab Saug Don Maximiano? They are definitely not icon wines in my opinion. Their two top wines, Chadwick and Sena are both missing.
However, they do offer other tours that are less expensive ( max reserva tour for $30 pp).
Perhaps we were disappointed because we were so looking forward to the experience.
We would recommend Apalta Lapostolle, Villa Casa Marie or Vina del Bosque for a much better experience for a much reasonable price.

I submitted a tour request on their web page on Nov 17. I got a reply on Dec 2. I replied and asked which wines would be available to taste and could I just taste. I was told I could only take a tour. I asked for details on the wines offered on the tour.and received only general information nor clarification of the wines between the $10k tour and the $20k tour. I was told an ICON tour was available on a different date. I replied on Dec 4 that I would like to take the ICON tour for $30k. I did not receive a response. On Dec 9 I sent a note asking for a confirmation and received a reply that the date was no longer available. To compare, I had an excellent experience with a reservation at Montes.

We drove in without reservations and they were gracious in accommodating us. Had a fabulous lunch and joined a small group tour. Wonderful! The wine is excellent. A must-do stop! But do book ahead to make sure you get a table and a place on the tour.

Errazuriz is my favorite Chilean wine producer, I have several thousand dollars worth stashed away in my cellar at home. The vineyard trip is very interesting and well worthwhile. However I find it highly annoying that I can but the same wine at 70-80% of the vineyard prices in North America! Cheaper than the vineyard in Jumbo or Lider supermarkets in Santiago!! Guys, this is not a good way to reward customer loyalty in making the pilgrimage to the vineyard !!!

We found the wine we wanted to buy was $140 Cdn in Chile, plus import taxes to Canada or we could buy the wine in Canada for $80, including any and all taxes. Needless to say we decided not to buy it in Chile.

Tour was interesting, they have a great history, passed down through the family. But since all the children were girls it has been through many name changes. Had a nice hike up the stairs to a viewpoint where you can see all the mountain vineyards. Amazing.

This is the winery that put Chilean wines on the map by doing blind taste tests with very established wines - and winning.

State of the art facilities for making Icon wines. Great tasting, but expensive.
